Rockstar founder Sam Houser says it "looks and plays beautifully on PC and we can't wait for people to play it".

Grand Theft Auto IV will be released for PC on 21st November in Europe, Rockstar announced today.

Pleasantly, that's just a few days after the PC version arrives in North America on 18th November.

That it would not come to the pc. There is to much multiplatforming, when i buy a console or upgrade my pc i partly do it for exclusives.

When it was released they said they had no plans for the PC version, yes I rememberm that. But as time passed then they moved for "No comment on it", the 2K technical support and ESRB site slipped that the game was in devlopment for the PC too. Everyone was pretty much convinced it was just a matter of time until the announcement.

Haha, now hold on just a moment. I will give you props for a fantastic call but all I did was question your source, which I believe at the time was nothing but your gut feeling. You'll have to excuse me for wanting something a little more...credible as proof that GTA IV was in fact coming to PC. Oh and you hate to say it? Please, you've been waiting how many months to make that victory post?

Either way, this is great news. I likely will pick it up for PC for fun after the price has gone down for the mods and stuff since I already own the game for X360.

People actually thorugh GTA4 wouldn't to come to the PC ??
A confirmation is just pointless since anyone who played the GTA games before would know that it would come to the PC.
All they needed was a release date.

Unsurprising. Barely any games remain exclusive anymore. I can only imagine the barrels of fun the generally more mature PC gaming community are going to have online.

Yup, this was no surprise. Been that way with all the 3d GTA games. First for the console then ½-1½ years for the PC version to come out. Why would they change a working model? Lets see if it really is as good as the reviews make it seem.

It's a marketing ploy. There are so many die hard GTA fans, and if you confirm that you won't make a PC version (easy to pirate) then people will buy the console versions. Then you announce that you are releasing a PC version after most everyone has already bought a copy. Then people that wanted to play it would have it instead of pirating it, and people without consoles can buy it for their pcs.

The point of releasing the PC version latter IMO is if you had a PS3, 360 and PC version out at the same time people who had a PC and a 360/PS3 would just pirate the PC version. By staggering the release Rockstar have avoided that problem.
