they do, but i think they can go a long time before you notice them... they apparantly arent very agressive until they take their first settlement...
thanks, i have toggle_fow on and am looking in the east, but no massive armies so far, maybe ill just have to wait.
i guess this is a good time to ask as well, were the timurids included or taken out for another faction?

They come in waves, so you won't see massive armies anyways. Just wait some more turns... they come after the message "the Mongols arrive", not the one about rumours.
The Timurids aren't there anymore.
oh ok, i just got the rumors message not the arriving one. thanks!![]()

for a screen shot or two i've seen from a previous version, i saw a few large trumid armies fighting the templar
so i would asume that they are just used instead of the mogols in the early campaign as the hord from the east
btw, any idea what year roughly they come in?
or dose it vary?
Before SS6 (someone correct me if i'm wrong here, i've only played 6), the Americas & the Timurids were still in the game. They were both removed to extend the map east and use the two faction slots for the Kwarezmenian Empire & The Cuman Khanate. There are a total of two emergent nations, the Teutonic Order around Lithuania and the Mongols on the far east of the map. No Timurds in SS6.
As people have said, there are "rumour" messages before their actual appearance.
