This is the continuation of the "Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia name dispute" thread. This is a fresh start, which will hopefully mean a more manageable discussion.

this has no end...
Please, posters
firstly read my first post (if you want to),
secondly read carefully the other posts,
thirdly make sure that you have something interesting to say
fourthly are you sure you don't have any biases against anyone? Think about it,
last but not least, man, accept some facts, unless you find proofs for the opposite. Do not say "I don't accept this." "I don't accept that" without saying why you don't accept that.
I would appreciate it if you read this first.

I would appreciate if names weren't flung at people who disagree with you but that's been proven too much to ask.
Make clear what makes you think so.

Don't like the subject? report that here, then don't post again.
Thanks.

That's not how it works. You don't get to declare "either agree with me or don't post."
Are you sure?
I said "the subject", that means the whole problem, it's existance, its importance. I didn't say "the Greek point of view".
Stop interpreting things the way you want.

And since the modern Macedonians are at least in part descended from Greeks (including ancient Macedonians) how does that make a difference?

1. Because their prime minister claims there's an oppressed "Macedonian" minority in Greece.
2. Because some of them claim that they're not partly descended from Greeks, Slavs, Bulgarians but they're mostly "Macedonian" as in this previously unheard-of minority. These people also claim that Alexander the Great was a member of this minority.
Even in the previous thread Ferrets there were FYROMacedonians that denied the evidence of their university claiming that it was an effort from their former leaders to create a Yugoslav nation.
I've said before that insane, stupid, rambling nationalism is something Macedonians and Greeks can embrace as common ground. It doesn't really matter what "some" Macedonians say.
If somebody is trying to defend their history and heritage then you don't call that "stupid and insane" and and if someone is passionate about it then its not "rambling nationalism". Its getting more and more dangerous to defend who you are, because you are immediately gonna get branded "rambling nationalist".that insane, stupid, rambling nationalism

Not so. If you read the previous thread only very few people make these accusations. We can't agree with everyone.
Some few would call us "Rambling nationalists" and claim that there's no way to defend or steal history etc etc.
I and most of the people in this thread disagree with them. This thread is NOT to discuss if "defending history is retarded" or not. It's about the name of FYROM.
Yeah I know, in the previous thread there were few people who repeatedly made that remark. But its funny, you are only trying to defend the Greek heritage and history from being hijacked and then immediately you are "nationalist" or "radical". So next time you go to war to protect your country don't bother, they gonna call you "aggressor" or "invader". Laughable.

I'm not even bothering with that retarded "defending history" argument.
Well, the issue with the name exists precisely because of that problem.
Greek people cannot disregard it as "retarded" or unimportant argument.
