Icon11 Okay.. why are the Lithuanians Giants??

Just tested a custom battle with Followers of Pernakus (spelling mistake) against Sword Brethren,

all is well till I zoom in and I notice that the Follower's are at least a third taller than the Brethren, these guys must be at least 8ft!!

Why so tall? xD - all other units look tiny

Actually this brings up a pretty perspicacious point.
Look at the Viking age. You had soldiers coming out of a tough climate, who rowed boats all day and subsisted on a diet of dairy, fish and other meats. (In case you haven't noticed, Norway doesn't have much arable land). IE Lots of muscle and protein to sustain it.
In contrast, let's look at the Pierre, Jacque and Jean Levy soldiers of France, who would have survived mostly on wheat products. I think everyone can do the math from there.
    But good topic!

actually the vikings were very short... one guy was nicknamed "the giant" because his feet would reach the ground even when he was on his horse...
thats a shetland horse mind you... they aint tall

(he is believed to have been around 1.8 meters tall... ie the height of the standard M2TW infantryman)

EDIT: oh and the lithuanians arent taller than anyone else in my game... are you sure its not something on your end thats messing it up?

I'm not saying the Vikings were 8 ft. tall. Just burly and pretty well built for killing.

Actually they weren't a bunch of dwarfs or neanderthals (they beat the bag out of your ancestors). Pretty much paragons of virility. So my deep condolences for those of you readers who unfortunately don't trace their descent to the region.

"I have seen the Rus as they came on their merchant journeys and encamped by the Volga. I have never seen more perfect physical specimens, tall as date palms, blonde and ruddy..."
Montgomery, James E. "Ibn Fadlan and the Rusiyyah." Journal of Arabic and Islamic Studies, vol. 3 (2000)

"The examination of skeletons from different localities in Scandinavia reveals that the average height of the Vikings was a little less than that of today: men were about 5 ft 7-3/4 in. tall and women 5 ft 2-1/2 in. The most extensive recent anthropological study was carried out in Denmark, but the situation must have been similar elsewhere. Skeletons of people as tall as 6 ft 1/2 in. have been found, and those in richly furnished Viking graves - belonging to high- ranking people - were on average considerably taller than those in the more ordinary graves, undoubtedly because of better living conditions. A double grave on Langeland in Denmark contained two adult males, typically, the smaller one had been decapitated, and had probably had his hands tied behind his back, while the other was interred with his spear in the normal fashion - obviously a case of a slave (measuring 5 ft 7-1/4 in.) who had to accompany his master (5 ft 9-3/4 in.) in death. However, the skeleton found in Jelling church, thought to be that of King Gorm of Denmark (later known as Gorm the Old), was only of average height. This man was 5 ft 7-3/4 in. tall, with heavy, robust features, but not heavily built." (Else Roesdahl, The Vikings, p. 31).

Haven't you heard? Only Lithuanian women give birth to real men.
"My God, I wish we had the 9th Australian Division with us this morning."

"Australian troops had, at Milne Bay, inflicted on the Japanese their first undoubted defeat on land. Some of us may forget that, of all the allies, it was the Australians who first broke the invincibility of the Japanese army."

"we're way way pre-alpha and what that means is there is loads of features not just in terms of the graphics but also in terms of the combat and animations that actually aren't in the game yet.So the final game is actually gonna look way way better than this!” - James Russell, CA
Just like the elephant animation, this Carthage scenario is actually in the game, it just has a small percantage factor for showing up, that's all...

Your right I just tried a custom battle and you can notice it if you look close.

The pekunas seems to be a little bigger than regular.

(Actually when modeling I also sometimes scale the units bigger or smaller like jeanna d arc is only 90% as big as a regular)
