what is chinese falun gong

anyone knows a great deal about this religious organization? I am refraining for calling it a cult or sect as I just want information. if you know a great deal about it, and have some extra time, please list some of the major beliefs of the falun gong. most of my knowledge are from rumors(like my relatives and some chinese newspapers, not exactly accurate info) not thinking about joining in case you are wondering, just want to know what it has that it attracts millions of followers.

I'm pretty sure they're responsable for the loss of many sons and daughters, from families in China.

Better to stick to Confusianism, Buddhism and Taoism. They're much safer.

I just read the paraphrase in the 2nd paragraph of the time's article, I don't think I need to read anymore. I thought scientology was wacky, but the falun gong's leader is out of this world.

He really wants people to know that there are a lot of them (if true).

But anyway, yeah, i think Scientology makes a little more sense. (and I hate the fact that Scientology has the word scien in it. So many people keep telling me that I am a Scientologist because I am a physicist. SCIENTOLOGY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SCIENCE! )

I am a Falun Dafa practitioner and have been practicing it for over a year. Falun Dafa's main purpose is to guide people to their original true nature. It states that the characteristics of the universe are Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. Falun Dafa believes in non-violence in the face of the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of it.
In Falun Dafa, there are five sets of exercises and they aren't that complicated. Everything in Falun Dafa is free, which is one thing that really struck me about it. I don't pay for anything and there is no money involved in Falun Dafa. The practice of Falun Dafa mainly stresses giving up everyday people's attachments and to become a better person.

Falun Dafa has a main website with all the information about Falun Dafa in it. Just Google "Falun Dafa" and the first two sites on top of the list are the main Falun Dafa website.
