How come your prince is rarely your first son, and often somebody else?
I was under the impression it was the first born son always, unless you don't have one then it becomes your brother or so on.

You cant spell slaughter without laughter!
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
is that your way of training your assassins?
It would be great if we had civil wars in the game so we could take care of incompetent family members and rulers by choosing sides.
that was ROME!
choosing your heir in Med 2 involves at least one enemy unit![]()

Hmm in my anger I went madly searching the internet for mods that just fixes the heir thing, this is the best I found:
Q: How can I change my faction heir?
A: Unlike RTW, you cannot do that directly. The faction heir is the oldest son of the current faction ruler or, if he does not have a son, his brother.
You can use the console to give your desired heir the Factionheir trait:
Quote:
Open the console during your campaign by pressing the ~` key.
Now type:
QUOTE
give_trait <character> Factionheir
This is case sensitive and does not include the <>.
But then you have to kill off the existing faction heir, which sounds rather brutal (the above mechanics were investigated by Factionheir, appropriately enough).

Looks like you still gotta kill the other one![]()
The feeling's mutual but I doubt a patch will be released, the M2TW project is done with, the rest is up to modders. Does anyone know how much the game sold exactly?
CA needs to get ETW completed before Feburary so probably all the employees are assigned to it. Personally, I think The Creative Assembly should have delayed Empire's development a while back and fixed Medieval 2 first. There are certainly many things CA could have done and I have a feeling Empire will have similar problems.

Hello, and finally i am amongst people who play M2 TW and here goes my first post )))))
Anyway
I got this problem with my family tree, that to keep my famiy pure blooded and clean, i never accept the offer to take some other guy into my family as a son (like adopt, if u know what i mean), and because there are fewer family members then, and i dont like people who are married to daughters, i. e. they have different surname usually, and tend to send them off to fight rebells singlehanded, this causes my family to sometimes die out nearly
I'll explain why.
Sometimes u get the offer to marry a male in ur family to some noble woman from ur kingdom (Muslims always do it, since there are no princesses), however whenever i start to marry my kids (sounds weird) to foreign princesses OR the next in line by age to marry a noble woman dies, there is no more offer for anybody else to marry the noble woman from ur country. Is this a bug or what??? ))
I am sorry if it sounds complex, try to understand )))
I think it's because of the ratio of family members to provinces--which CA should have corrected. I encounter it all the time because I turtle, and sometimes it almost leads to my family's extinction. If you stop expanding or have few provinces, you will have less children and marriage proposals. Try taking over more provinces, and you should soon get more marriage proposals and children.
