Icon5 Battle Cutscenes- Massive slowdown. Any ideas?

I have the latest version with the patch. No "optional" components installed.

The problem I'm having is that during battle, the jump-to cutscenes (example when you kill an enemy general) are really really slow. The rest of the combat is fine.

Any way to turn these off if a config file or something?

you can turn them off in the preferences file located in the default Medieval II total war folder

Turn the "1" in "show event cutscenes" to a "0"
