ctd when reload formaly running savegame

hello,
i've played the western empire for long time (~ 40 years) until i get a ctd.
the ctd happened after i defeated a pictish army that attacked me. not very strange, the game runs all the time not completely stable and i have the auto- and a quicksave and another older savegame. so, my problem now is that i cant reload any savegame of the western empire, when i start a new game with another faction it runs, i've reinstalled with the patch but it doesnt help. i hope someone here can help me.

Try try again. I've noticed a few CTDs occur every so often in this game, and a retry always does the trick for me.

You played for 40 years? Thats 160 turns, how long did that take you?
I play a lot and I never came past turn 30-40.
But I restart campaigns a lot.

As for your problem...
You can't load your savegames with the romans, but you can start new games with other factions.
Can you start new games as the romans?
Could you attatch the savegame? I'm assuming you are playing IJ 2.01a.

And what do you mean by "game runs all the time not completely stable",
that the game is crashy?
