Trial by Combat-Let's do it
why dont we bring back trial by combat, where ppl can fight each other (to the death or not) over disputes etc, or assign champions to fight for them?
not only would this make for some very bloody entertainment, but also, we can speedily resolve conflicts

Because justice should obviously be decided by who has combat experience and muscles and who doesn't, and not "trials" or "fairness" or "logic" or "evidence".
Although, if both parties agree to it and it's non-lethal, I suppose it could be done...

Being a big burly boy, there is a certain appeal to your statement. I'd love to smack some sense into some of the knuckleheads in this world.
But I have to agree with Bertinator and finsternis.
It would never be fair..... the rich would never fight their own fight, they'd hire it out, so then we're back to the peasants doing all the fighting, while the rich indulge in their orgy of watching mortal combat.

C'mon, the pleasure is not in watching them die but in watching them FIGHT!! Victory by KO could be acceptable, I suppose.
If you don't agree, then why don't you come over here and we'll decide who's right. First by trial, then by fight to the death. To make it fair.

Exarch, you do realize the whole point of trail by combat is that god will give victory to whoever he wishes ... Trail by combat was a religous thing.

Not by death, but to have unrestricted combat until NEAR death or incapacitation, that would be cool, but barbaric in nature. But that could solve the problem of all the third world children in the world, making them fight for amusement:hmmm:

That would be incredibly cruel, if practical. I mean imagine you get a kid with cancer who cant fight...

Seriously, though- such a thing would be ridiculous and illogical in the modern day. Fair trials make more sense.
