    Default Unarmed Galatian Chariots

    Hi guys,
I noticed that Galatian Chariots have no weapon whatsoever on it. There is no archer, no scythe, nothing. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

If it is a bug, it would be great if someone told me how to change the chariot model and texture to let's say the seleucid's one, cause I can only find the crews in descr_model_battle

Where are you seeing no attack on them, in the game unit card? This is the EDU entry, which shows both a sword attack for the soldiers and an untyped attack for the chariot itself.

    Code:
    type aor galatia chariot
    dictionary rtr_aor_galatia_chariot
    category cavalry
    class            heavy
    voice_type Heavy_1
    soldier aor_galatia_chariot_crew, 6, 6, 7.4
    mount heavy chariot
    mount_effect horse -18, camel -18, elephant -47
    attributes sea_faring,hide_forest,frighten_foot,can_run_amok,no_custom,mercenary_unit
    formation 7, 9, 15, 15, 1,square
    stat_health 2, 4
    stat_pri 12, 26, no, 0, 0, melee, simple, piercing, sword, 0 , 0.5
    stat_pri_attr no
    stat_sec 25, 26, no, 0, 0, melee, blade, slashing, none, 0 , 0.77
    stat_sec_attr ap,launching
    stat_pri_armour 7, 4, 0, metal
    stat_sec_armour 8, 7, metal
    stat_heat 2
    stat_ground -4, 0, -18, 0
    stat_mental 15, low, untrained
    stat_charge_dist 80
    stat_fire_delay 0
    stat_food 60, 300
    stat_cost 2, 1411, 398, 130, 210, 630
ownership barbarian, carthaginian, eastern, egyptian, greek, roman, slave
I suspect that it's just a display bug in the unit card.

I think the more important question is why you're looking to use chariots. I find them incredibly prone to running amok, which pretty well ruins their fun value the first time they run amok through your heavy infantry.

Yep! You can recruit them at some of the cities in Minor Asia.

Oh, I actually meant no attack on the model as I can't understand how just two horses, a wagon and a rider can fight (or are they supposed to ride people down...?)

Playing as greek I need those chariots to effectively catch those damn Sarmatian Cavalry. You should try chariots again vs cavalry. That looks to be their real strength!

    Thanks for the replies though

I don`t remember... are there two guys per chariot in vanilla RTRPE or only one? Who knows what te initial developers intended with it, but I think the idea is to be a smashing vehicle as the scythed chariots of the seleucids.
The way the celtic chariots acted in reality is not possible to represent with the engine of RTW unfortuantelly.

On the Galatian Chariot, there is only one guy. Looks kinda stupid imho when those chariots drive around and enemies around them die of no apparent reason

So, does anyone know how to change the model?

Yes, you need 3dsmax to edit the model. It cost about 3500 $. Or you could find some already completed model(with its own texture) and replace the one in RTRPE, make new ui cards and generate new sprites. All are modding questions and you should post about them in the workshop section of twc.
