HISTORICAL ACCURACIES

Having looked at previous posts I know that being historically accurate has been a bit of a contentious issue.however I've got a bug in my game which I can't fix which means that playing as England I can't wipe out Scotland because when I take its last settlement I get an unspecified error and shuts down the game.So for the rest of the campaign while I'm trying to to deal with the pesky French and HRE et al I'm going to be constantly irritated by the sweaties across the border.Which in real life untill England became the UK has always been the case and historically accurate.I was wondering does anyone else keep anything 'real' or do any bugs do it for you?

i like to do goofy things like play england and make a lasting alliance with scotland who i allow to expand as they wish. ill beat france into becoming my vassal but then i will protect their independence from others fiercely. as byzantium ill help the turks slaughter egyptians (as long as i get some settlements too out of it). also in my modded descr_strat where i can play the pope, the pope himself owns the holy land. =)

just give the pope a settlement in the mid east. he goes bum- crazy and expands into turkey and egypt.

its totaly possible to form the UK. Someone already mentioned it. Its very possible to hold a very strong alliance with scotland for a very long time. Just get ur rep up with them and make sure to always keep a decent amount of cheap upkeep troops in your border settlement. Or just make them your vassal.

I try to keep it historically accurate... but then it goes crazy (when i cheat )))))))) and i conquer everything by somebody like Portugal, Denmark, Hungary, Scotland... etc.

I know I wont't ever unite the UK I don't want to,I want to totally own it In Engands name
.The point I was making was that I will have to conquer other lands and empires whilst keeping an eye on the Scots and therefore retaining a small army in the north of England to deal with Scottish raiders.Which is what happened in the 100 years war while we were raiding norhtern France:hmmm:

I think there is a problem with your game as when I first played it ages ago, whenever I wiped out a faction the game crashed. This will happen with any faction you kill off not just Scotland.

Hopefully someone on here with a bit more tech. expertise can help.
