so..... you mean i can't cross even when i built ships?![]()
so..... you mean i can't cross even when i built ships?![]()
Apparently, the transport ships are bugged, but you can cross with any other ships.
i just did the Brittannia mission (destroyed the 2 armies, besieging the town now) and the transport ships worked perfectly for me
i just boarded my army, and dropped them off
so i don't think you need to worry
Valerius Tiberius
Those are great news, Valerius. Although I wonder why other users are having problems with the ships. Perhaps it is the composition of the fleet? :hmmm:
Good luck in Britain, by the way.
tnx
still haven't taken the last city, but that fort battle was one disorderly battleeveryone spread and fighting seperatly against a mass of enemies in such a small fort
i won though
and yeah, dunno what the problem is with them, i just recruited a ship in one of those 2 cities you had to capture, sent it there, boarded a full stack and dropped it off again
maybe they have an older version? :hm:
the britain mission is one of the funniest one, it's like a blitzkrieg of legions.
regards
hehe, it really is
some days ago, i had some spare time and thought "i'm just gonna take this last settlement in some minutes"
i started the battle, had a nice attack coordinated (from which some caladonian mercs were pure cannonfodder and just needed as distraction ^^)
but i wasn't paying attention and Caesar was run over by the bodyguard chariots :haha:
so ends the might Caesar
but i saved it before the attack so i just load it![]()
appeared to be wasted time of my life....
Valerius Tiberius
ps: any tips to kill those chariots?
in other mods spearmen offen help, but i can't seem to find any, or enough, in britain....
So Valerius it worked for you. Great ! You said that you used transports ships. At my last save, I have one bireme and one transport. I'm gonna try with mere transports ships if it works, or with just biremes or triremes.
I'm gonna check if it could be cause the combination of ships.
That's weird !
Anyway SH, thanks you. I'm gonna try that and I'll give you feedback. Did you check the game save I uploaded ?
hi
wait, did you have a bireme and a transportship in one fleet? :hm:
it seems to me that this may be the cause, since my transport fleet was alone
try and i hope it works
so you can continue your campaign
Valerius Tiberius
ps: if it doesn't, you can always use move_character x,y![]()
Yes I have a fleet composed of one transports and one bireme. Pardon, how can I use move_character x,y. ?
First, put the mouse in the place where you want to move the army to, open the game console and type:
show_cursorstat
- This will give you the coordinates of the destination.
after that, type in the console too:
move_character "Gaius Julius" x, y
- where x,y are the coordinates that you have previously got
- and the name of the character must be between quotations
Hope this helps to solve the problem.
Ok, Now I have time to try to finish my campaign. I tried to board a single transport ship beginning from my back up of summer 53 BC. It doesnt work either.
I tried then to use move_character of the Romeshell. I think i entered the good script and the adequates coordinates i got of southern Britain. nevertheless, It said it does not recognise the name of the character.
here the script I entered : move_character "Gaius Julius" 47, 124 Here what appear ; err: character not found
I tried "Gaius Iulius", "Gaius Iulius Caesar", even "Gaius Trebonius", nothing... Always the same : err:character not found

One thing we discovered while beta-testing is that the program sometimes changes the internal names of the characters. It must be some "feature" of the game. I have tried "Caius Julius" and it works for me, so please let me know how it works.
Edit: I have managed to make the army board the fleet. It is due to something as stupid as the map having some bug in the region near Darioritum. But if you try to board near this location, it is possible:
Anyway, if you double-click on top of the fleet, the game CTD. I have no clue on why it is so :hmmm: So be careful...

Hi Salvor,
So you say the bug is about this area of the map. Well I was trying to board from the shipwright of Darioritum. I gonna try to board from another area.
About the move_character trick, I tried a lot of name of Caesar (Gaius Julius, Gaius Iulius. Gaius Iulius Caesar) and Gaius Trebonius, too, but nothing,.
otherwise, I can't board to my single Transport ship ready to get to the enemy coast. I'm gonna try from the northern coast of Gaul, from the selected area you suggested.
Yes yes yes yes yes !!! I did it from the bay of Condate.
Tanks a lot Salvor Hardin
Good luck against the Britons!
What about the final patches, the missing portraits?![]()
The only missing portrait i found so far is that of Marc Anthony's. I've found a rebel general that has the portrait he is suppose to have before M. Anthony shows up, and thats probably why he doesnt have that portrait.

Unfortunately, the patch has seen some delay in its progress as I have been quite busy lately. You can visit the Dev's Forum and give a look at the Map FMIR section if you are curious about it.![]()
yeah i experienced that.... twiceyway, if you double-click on top of the fleet, the game CTD.
i had to try a lot of names too, eventually workedAbout the move_character trick
and i could just board my ship near Portus Itius :hm:
weird.....
anyhow, anyone got any tips to fight those chariots?
(see couple of posts back)
