What does everyone think about this?

I don't like the fact that they predicted the exact day Cortez showed up, if that is correct, it's really scary to think about. It could be the end in 52 months. What does everyone think?

You can't do anything to stop it, so just live your life to the best everyday.

And who knows you may get in an auto accident tomorrow and die, then will it really matter what happens in 2012, was it worth the worrying?

That's very true and also the real problem is that humans are barely even attempting to save this planet and are going crazy about a prophecy made hundreds of years ago.

It just seems that too much is actually making sense to the different theories. It's really hard to downplay this prediction.

i believe if we all work together to solve the problems at hand, global warming, terrorism, civil unrest in nations and killing each other over religion then that is when we can prevent our own doom but us humans are naturally greedy and have mainly self interest. i dont see anything getting better, but like everyone said before we can wait and see what happens and hope these people are wrong.

I think all of that is too much to do in 4 years. I know people want to believe this won't happen, but what I hate the most about it is that there is too much evidence by too many prophetic predictors and it's hard to just not believe it.

You should know although Mayans were intelligent these are the same people who thought that they were pleasing their gods by sacrificing people on top of their temples.

How did they predict March 9, 1519 as the day the "white, bearded men" will come. I'm sorry but that is far to big a co-incidence for me. And then you have guys like Nostradamus believing this same theory. It's just hard to believe that everyone living now had to be born in the Apocalypse era.

Yeah but how do we know Mayans arn't just playing a huge practical joke on everyone to get back at the "white bearded men"?

honestly we will never know more of the truth because alot of mayan text was lost when the spanish burned them. as for Cortes i have no explanation or anything to argue against it and honestly it freaks me out abit, but did it say the exact name of the conquistador of who was to come? but nonetheless whatever happens we must accept it or try to fight it.

You mean the Mayans WERE playing a practical joke? I don't think that at the time of the Spanish Conquest of Mexico was a real joke in the Mayan Empire. This was instilled in their calendar, long before Cortez arrived in Mexico. They didn't make it up after he arrived, they predicted long before. It's just that of recent, all the occurrences in the last 100-200 years have been boldly similar to Mayan predictions leading up to the End of the World.

It's hard to believe they would joke about this on their own calenders. I don't think that they were a totally hysterical bunch.

This is only one of the many predictions they made. It wasn't the decade they predicted, or the year, or even as scary as the month, but the exact day. I mean really... That's an epic prediction...
