Default Problem with Kingdoms, please help

Hey, so I just bought Kingdoms today and installed it. I chose to play the Crusades campaign first and I played it as the Byzantines. Everything was working fine until I attempted to lay siege to a Turkish town. When I went to attack and the game tried to load the battle map, I got a message saying "Medieval 2 has encountered an unspecified error and must now exit". Is this a common problem? Hopefully somebody knows a solution. Thanks.

BTW, this may or may not be related but it's another problem. I have Stainless Steel 6.1 installed on my computer and after playing it for a few minutes, it randomly kicks me back to desktop. No error message, just boom, back to desktop.

In your first post, some battles, especially sieges, are still bugged. Have you installed the Kingdoms Update? It supposed to cure some of them.

Your second post would be better to ask Stainless Steel themselves. They have it modded to the point it doesn't resemble the original.

If you use a clean version of the game maybe the problem in the crusades campaign was accidental.
for the SS campaign, this happens in the campaign map or in the battle? In the load of the battle or during the battle?
And something else your pc is old? Your drivers are OK?

Yes, the version is "clean". Obviously there's an autosave at the beginning of my turn so I tried to reload it in case it was simply a one-time thing and yet every time I try to play the battle, it gives me the same problem.

For SS, it just happens at random times, doesn't really matter if it's in battle or not.

My PC isn't exactly new but it was state of the art when I got it and I've never had a single problem running Medieval 2, so I doubt Kingdoms would be a different story.

Hmmm, maybe your install of SS 6.1 got corrupted somehow and also messed up your vanilla game. Have you installed any other minimod on top of SS?
If not then I'm afraid you will have to uninstall SS and then also your vanilla game. Start anew, install the game from the scratch - yeah I know it takes an awful lot of time to install but I don't know for any other solution.

No, SS is the only minimod. I guess that's possible. Thanks, I'll try that as a last resort.

Stupid question but where would I find the Kingdoms update?

And thanks, I didn't mean to ask about SS in the wrong place, I just thought it might be a related issue.

Thanks. If there was any confusion, I was referring to my question as stupid, not yours.
