I just got a new computer and for some reason a new map.rwm isn't created when I create a new region. I have absolutely no idea why.

You must start a new game for the creation of a new map.rwm file. if the game does not start for any reason no map.rwm file created.

''The world has no room for cowards. We must all be ready somehow to toil, to suffer, to die. And yours is not the less noble because no drum beats before you when you go out into your daily battlefields, and no crowds shout about your coming when you return from your daily victory or defeat.''
This may sound anal but you have to delete it to get it to generate a new one. In Kingdoms, there is more than one.
That's the case with me.In my case I start a new game but the files just don't regenerate - I wonder if that is also the case with Icefrisco?
Yeah I know. My problem is with a mod but I figured that the mod itself should not be affecting the creation of the map.rwm.This may sound anal but you have to delete it to get it to generate a new one. In Kingdoms, there is more than one.
So, does anyone have a solution?
I just deleted the previous map.rwm and then I re-ran my mod. Strangely, the mod worked fine even though a new map.rwm was not created. How is this possible? This leads me to believe I must have some sort of invisible map.rwm.
Look in C:\Sega\Medieval II Total War\ Your mod name\data\world\maps\base and in there you should find descr_regions.txt. If you did, that's the map.rwm to delete and also where you should find the new one. Check the time and date it was generated.
Thanks. I'll try it out.Look in C:\Sega\Medieval II Total War\ Your mod name\data\world\maps\base and in there you should find descr_regions.txt. If you did, that's the map.rwm to delete and also where you should find the new one. Check the time and date it was generated.
Edit: I did that but no new map.rwm was created.

Are you using XP or Vista?
Then what you are loooking for is hidden in your Administrative folder way donw to the Virtual Store/Sega/Medieval II Total War folder. You can use search to find the rest of the particulars. It's been too long since I used Vista.
