Max Mosley, son of the leader of the British League of Fascists and the boss of Formula 1 was caught having a tasty romp with an alleged nazi theme to the delight of the viewing public.

The Times heralded a new era of us all dipping our middle class willies in things like a raw carrot in some sour sauce. They ran articles along the lines of "When shall I spank my partner" and I had sex with my brother but I don't feel guilty." Jeremy Clarkson complained at the following hearing as to whether to fire Mosley was a sign of us losing the ability to be naughty.

I agree with you. No private sexual deviances between (largely) unharmed consenting adults should be anything to do with anybody else.

Its worth keeping in mind that this was not a prosecution. It was a libel action because Moseley insisted it was a German themed ... erm... evening, rather than specifically a Nazi one (as one publication had suggested).

As he successfully argued: the use of German was purely a question of acoustic aesthetics. It sounds bossier than English. (Especially when accompanied by a jack-boot and a truncheon.)

You have to bear in mind though that tabloids such as the "News of the World" don't have such lofty ideals. The morals of the situation don't really interest them. They just want pictures of well known people caught with their pants down. It sells papers.

On another point though, I think Mosely is a straight dickhead for putting his wife through all of this embaressment. Bad enough that she now knows he gets his jollies being thrashed by whores in jackboots, but then he has to go bleating it all out again in court.

why is this kind of thing nobodies business? do you not think that kind of behaviour affects the personality of the practitioner, and that accepting such behaviour in their minds would make someone prone to doing it with e.g. coerced girlfreinds.

i don’t believe we can act in a certain way under given conditions and that is the beginning and end of it. our psyche’s are built out of our behaviour and environmental conditions, the more we repeat certain actions the more effect they have on us.

as a general rule, groups tend to try to keep adding to their numbers via friends and lovers etc. so any kind of group will tend to affect people around it, if we say it is ok to do extreme things, it lifts the line by which we draw our limits. if its ok to do this then its ok to do X.
