Yarr! I want pirates! ...with gatling guns!

Ok guys, I've searched google for a list of pirate games but there seems to be a distinct lack of any that are decent. Other than "Sid Meier's Pirates!" which I found pretty dull, do you people know of any good pirate/Caribbean sailing games out on the market? I've had a craving for these kind of games recently. Another genre I've had a renewed interest in is mech-fighting games, are there any relatively new ones (I could never stand the ugly looking trees in the older ones) that are good and don't have arcadey graphics?

what systems do you have other then pc. If its a ps system I can recommend some mech games. Pirate games are rare and I dont think there are any good ones

Anyone ever play the first pirates of the Caribbean game. It was quite good if you downloaded the build 13 mod. It had nothing to do with the film and you could just roam around in your ship trading, buying cannonballs and shooting stuff.

I've played it and you're right there, it got quite good with the mod as that added some respectable amount of new quests, islands, ships etc. .
What I especially liked about the game in general is the combination of island exploration and sea battles (the land battles being quite boring but the sea battles being nice).
Without the mod, it's "just" acceptable though imho.

Monkey Island? Point and click adventure game, I'm guessing you've probably already played it, but it's not to be missed.
