    Default to play papal states

Now, I know how to go into my descr_strat and make the Papal States playable. But, are there any other tweaks I should make anywhere else? I know from experience that only editing the _strat is necesary, but any other tweaks the are beneficial?

You know, I played as pope just editing the _strat file. Also, pope is nice to play, 'cause when you attack somebody, game mechanics think that they attacked you, and as you play the pope, the faction attacked by you gets excommunicated immideatly

I have never had to tweek anything when I play, it goes just fine, except inquisitors get annoying as they disapear all the time and move by themselves when you forget about them.

That is actually the good part of it. You can use them during your turn and they can kill during the AI's turn. It is actually an exploit since you can use them to kill rivals (even faction leaders) without being penalized.

@Mango: cities can rebel when you play the papal states.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.

Playing as the Papal states can also be quite buggy and will crash (more than normal).

Strange, I never crashed. But it is buggy (not because unplayable like crashes or something). The pope (as your faction leader) asks the pope (as the pope) to go on a crusade, and the second one refuses, lol.

I never had problems playing as the Papal States, but it is natural someone to face bugs and other problems because the Papal States are not a playable faction, maybe in a new Papal States campaign of yours everything will be OK

One thing you shouldn't do is put any other faction then the papal states in playable factions because then the mongols invasion/ timurid invasio disappears.

He who wishes to command must know what it's like to obey.

    Also cities can't rebel.
No heroes, no villains, only conflicting perspectives with regards to a specific object.
