Well obviously illegal immigration is bad because it cheats the country out of money and also makes life very hard on the immigrant. If the illegal immigrants were to become citizens the country would have the money they deserve and its better for the people. Its not that hard to become a citizen anyway. Legal immigration is always acceptable in my opinion when the person is checked. I mean for dieseases and criminal records. I mean who is going to want a serial killer become a citizen and escape punishment just because of laziness. Also no one wants a girls carrying stds and hiv and spread it everywhere. If they are positive for these then allow them into the country.

oh really? and you personally know how easy it is for a non- anglo person to become a citizen? its a looong drawnout, complicated process that takes alot of money that alot cant afford. and it usually takes more than 1 try.
the only way i see it taking money is from those very attemps to try it legally. everyone in the US pays sales tax. and if they own a house, they pay those taxes as well. then the few benefits of paying taxes arent granted to them.

ok, and what nationality are your parents originally from? what walk of life did they come from?(middle class, low, etc.) and in what year did they do this?

There are many immigration enthusiasts here as well. You wanted to challenge someone, and I accept the challenge. A one on one debate would be nice because then you wouldn't have the problem of people jumping in who didn't read previous posts, only to post the same things which must be refuted again.

I believe you can request a one on one in the challenge thread.

That's not necessarily true. IT might have been in your case, but some people wait years and still don't get citizenship. It's a commonly accepted fact that part of what makes illegal immigration so alluring is that the legal method is long, tedious and rarely successful.

It's not about if we should let anyone or who to let in, it's the principle behind it. The leaders and many citizens make it seem as immigrants are the ones causing the decline of the economy, which is not the case.

By the way it is a long and tedious process to become a citizen and the smallest mistake could mean hundreds if not thousands of dollars to do it all over again. Take it from me I just became a citizen about 3 years ago and my parents put my papers in since i was 9 I'm 19 and only when I was about seventeen did i get my citizenship. It's a pain in the ass man, and a lot of people dont have the money for it trust me.

well rush, judging by your posts on other threads, if it were up to you, only white, conservative thinking people would be allowed in. and again, you personally know how easy it is for a non anglo person to become a full citizen? sounds to me like youve had it easy your whole life. ifyou couldnt complete something you just paid it off(like HS maybe?). the upper classes are so ignorant, they have it easy so they think everyone else must to.

just providing an actual situation: my father who is an ER doctor has failed the citizenship exam twice because of the difficulties he faces with the english language. it is pretty difficult to learn another language at the age of 50. the poor guy takes the failing of such an exam to heart not because of the money he has to spend to take it but simply because he feels shame from not being able to overcome such an obstacle, and i am betting it is a major factor that drives him to being an alcoholic. my mother who has successfully passed the exam has been waiting for years for the confirmation due to ongoing investigations which have queues of up to thousands or maybe millions (thank you 9/11).

you try and tell them that citizenship is an easy accomplishment.

I wouldn't deny anyone the right to live in our great country the US of A. But I wouldn't let somebody cut in line in front of the others who have been patiently waiting. There is a system in place -as flawed as it is- that all people most go through. That addresses legal immigration.

Illegal immigration on the other hand is intolerable...... do you know of any country who lets just anybody and their momma in, just for the sake of improving their lives? I can't think of any in this world. I do see refugee camps all over the world where (those illegal immigrants) are caged and kept separate from the nationals. Be it due to war or famine or whatever reason, those countries don't just let people in who need a drink of water, why should America be any different?

I believe immigration is ok because.

Kosovo, the people who lived their didn't immigrate by their own will they were forced to move out. The people of Kosovo were told by Serbia "Get out of your house, leave your belonging and leave the country or else be shot.".

People immigrate either because they are forced to or because they are seeking a better life. It is inhumane to tell a man "No you can't enter our country because you have no education and can't speak our language and no we don't care that you have no home."



Tell me, If you didn't have all the luxuries you take for granted today and your living in poverty with threats of being killed due to starvation, sickness, etc would you still agree that immigration is wrong?
