    Default Im having Battle AI issues, or so i think

    I dont know if its just me, but im finding the AI acting quite strangely in battles, more so than the last version of SS. The AI always seems to force his army to run a marathon at the beginning of every battle. They rush all their units towards my units. Sometimes, they even pull back all their units at the last second, causing them to be super tired when they start fighting.

    Also, the I noticed during a melee between two lines of infantry that the AI often leaves units out of the fight, causing the units that are in the fight to be swamped since i have like 3 units fighting it.

    Another strange thing is that during custom battle, on a test fight between two units of dismounted feudal knights, the AI kept pulling its unit out of the fight, almost like forcing it to dance. This resulted in that unit to get tired much faster, as well as giving my unit free kills as they get stabbed in the back.

    Anyone notice anything similar?

    Edit: I'm playing on VH/VH with the newest Lusted AI...I believe this is a problem with the AI trying to execute complex moves,since on medium difficulty the AI just marches their army into mine

    the AI will always do some mind boggling things, lol.

    are you sure you have the latest lusted BAI? Since i installed that i found my battles much more fun. I think the enemy running away from youre troops before rushing back in is the AI trying to bring a units charge bonus into play
    Its not the one with youre name on it, its the one addressed to whom this may concern you have to worry about

    AI not using all its troops in the initial melee?

    Looks like very sensible idea - keep a tactical reserve, deploy when enemy is weakening or your own forces need re-inforcement. Although in practice it may not quite work out as intended.

    There's a limit on what Battlefield AIs can do.

    Also useful to give heavy infantry a break during fighting to recover.
    (Although as pointed out - it can leave them vulnerable.)
