    Default campaign AI problem

ive noticed in my current game that AI factions keep mindlessly attackin rebel settlements with pathetic little armies that have no chance of success.

over the last 5 or 6 turns ive watched both poland and HRE attack a settlement containing 4 units. they've attacked it 2 or 3 times now with 4 or 5 unit stacks. in the last attack poland had TWO units.

this mod has load of great features but when i see the above hapnin it really kills the immersion for me. has there been any work done on the campaign AI as it seems a little braindead?

What difficulty are you playing on? I find that on Medium it takes the AI 2-5 tries to take a rebel settlement. On Hard/Very Hard, they certainly do send larger armies and take it in 1-2 tries. At least in my experience.

    EDIT:

One campaign AI problem I have noticed, figured I'd mention it in this post instead of starting a new one. I am playing a campaign as England, and I called a crusade on Grenada. I took the settlement before the other Catholics did, but now there's two armies (Danish and Aragon) blocking the passages on either side of Grenada (with the mountains above and the ocean below, so no other way around). They were crusading to take Grenada, but now it seems they've given up hope and are content to just stand there and be in the way. I've been waiting for the Moors to attack them, but they haven't yet and it's getting pretty annoying. The only way I can move my units out of Grenada is by sea, and I don't want to attack my Catholic friends as I am playing the 'honourable' way.

So long story short, is there a known bug where crusading armies (controlled by the AI) wont budge after a failed crusade? Note that I have no additional mods installed, just SS 6.1.

They should move.. eventually. Personally I'd just teleport them out of the way, given you know their last names (hopefully they don't have titles or else it could get tricky).

To do that just open up your console and put your cursor on the place where you want to teleport them, then type "show_cursorstat" You should see a set of coordinates. Next type move_character "character's first and last name(case sensitive)" and then the coordinates (including the "pos")

That should move the Generals/captains out of your way, but if they have titles then (IE. "The Lewd") I've noticed that it won't work and will only accept their Birth names.

I've found on VH/VH it usually takes a few attempts by the AI but they will get it sooner or later.

for a start this should have nothing to do with what the difficulty is (im playin on hard). as far as im aware that setting only effects things like cash bonuses and aggression. the AI IS attackin settlements, the problem is it aint attackin with enough troops. to make it worse, in all of the attacks ive seen the stacks gave been leaderless which doesnt help either.

there are lines in the code that effect at what odds the AI will attack as other mods ive played dont suffer from this problem.

Why don't you get brand new Lusted's BAI and CAI.
They are awesome. Give them a try. You will see that
AI is much harder and cunning.
