    Default Blood Clouds

How can I turn the "bloodclouds" back to normal? They are too much here now.

I saw a reference to this somewhere in a thread, I tried to find it but couldnt quite... The search engine in all its glory sucks. (Typing that mix matched crap sucks)

The blood clouds are something you get used to, but people have removed them... Personally, I need them now as they are. You will find the Calvary a problem as well... but I insist its better the way it is. This mod is plagued, Well the threads for this mod, by negative responses that I am quite astonished by, not that this is one...

All said and done, I think they are toned a bit down in 5.7 (release)

Look at those pictures. Where are those massive amounts of blood even supposed to come from?`Look at the knight in the last picture, he's totally covered in two gallons of blood. The whole unit is disappearing underneath these clouds. It isn't fun anymore to watch missile impacts on troops like in Braveheart, beause you cant see the units any more.

I just wanted to know - what's the point? It isn't realistic, it isn't helpful. Were they that desperate too see blood at all that any red effect would do? I just can't understand that, someone had to test this mod before implementing it in DLV and someone had to say "that's great, we'll use that".

The new battleskins look odd as well, for example take a unit of sudanese tribesmen. When the whole unit is slain chances are that half of the entire unit feature the exact same damageskin, with one round bloody blop on the left upper leg on the tunic. If there are six or seven of those models lying next to each other it looks kind of odd.

I personally never missed blood & gore in medieval, the default damageskins where much more decent in my oppinion.

    This is from dlv 5.2

so i don't see that lot of increase now.

[..] you seem to like fantasy then. Also you are not much TOLERANT to put that in middle words.

I took those screens right before posting here playing 5.7. Before, I played 5.5 without any blood effects at all.

Can understand why some players would want them dimished or taken out but I love the blood clouds - only wish some clever clog can mod them into melee so we get all that blood from the hackin' an' slashin'...

Got to agree with you on that one...The more blood and gore, the better.

What's wrong with you? The more blood & gore the better - no matter how it looks?

Honestly, those clouds just look awfull, if they would add them to melee combat you hat huge red blops popping up over the entirely battlefield, those clouds don't even resemble blood. I really don't get the point over people's heads explode when they get hit by an arrow. Play Myth if you want gore. In those games it really looked adequate because it was comic-like fantasy setting. If it would be kinda realistic I certainly found it annoying that my soldiers burst and splatter all over the place constantly.

But DLV isn't intended to be realistic.... It's a product of basically what Repman what's to see when he plays....

I look at it like this. When you are hitting the enemy with one unit of peasant archers yet there are a few blood clouds....

But if you've got 5 units of Welsh Bowmen... The carnage is ridiculous

In big chaotic battles it kinda helps you gauge how bad you are mauling your enemy quickly. I find it pretty entertaining especially with the sound effects.

So bad it's good.. Like battle scenes from 300 or something.

Ooooh, loads of blood. Why does that much blood flying out of someone who stays standing remind me of the menstrual cycle?

Blood effects are a bit over the top to be fair, but I find it easier to see what units are gettin the face ripped off them this way, you can't miss it. Cavalry on the other hand, thats not so good...
