Default Kingdoms campaign and Eras question

Are the scenarios in kingdoms age restricted? Upwards, not downards.

Like the new world campaign can't get early era stuff, because it seems to start in the high era.

But for early campaigns, like the crusades and britannica, can you go into the late era?

Because that would be unbalanced, the venetians and turks getting the late era Renaissance units, and the other factions are all stuck in the time of the crusades.

But when I tried to do a custom battle, only early and high and all are available, late is not.

Does that mean that the technology stops at the high era?

Like the janissaries and musketeers are only for the special custom battles, and won't show in the campaign?

If so, can I find out exactly what units will be available in the campaign? Is it all early and high era units?

    Thanks.

America is only late, but you have to develop your units (you can't train musketeers from the begginning) when you do missions you get rights to build better structures untill at the end you can bombard those natives with your basilisks and kill them with your fully armored conquistadors!

He who wishes to command must know what it's like to obey.
