It's because the Byzantines are the most popular faction in M2TW. People tend do reports of their favourite faction. What is illogical for you in this?
If you don't like reading Byzantine AARs, here's a little trick for you that might work.

well,
first there ARE a lot of other factions currently going. I have an HRE (by fire and sword on page 2) there are Danish, polish, teutonic, sicilian, etc. Just keep looking and reading.
I don't see the attraction to the Byzantines at all really. I would much rather use western factions!
People like it because its reletivly unkown empire to most people, and well the late roman empire is might intresting to a fairly large number of people, either way I much prefer obsure and even further unrepresented factions. such as hungarians, argonese, obtorites ect
within us all there is a flickerAnd through our liveswe must turn it into a fireIf not it will all be extinguished
I'm doing western with l'agenda du Almaric d'Arles. I have the same problem with byzantine aars. there are too many. And I'm not doing my fave faction, either. I just picked one with a good story, and that's KOJ. My fave is scotland, and theyre completely different. There are hardly any Scots in KOJ (or English, why do they have English accents? even Richard the Lionheart spoke french). forgive my ranting, I can get carried away.
Dh'aindeoin co'theireadh e - Gainsay Who Dare
they don't need them, per se, its just a good feature to have them
Dh'aindeoin co'theireadh e - Gainsay Who Dare
it tingles peoples spidey sense i mean roman sense.
I have a Venice AAR, in which the systematic eradication of the Byzantines will begin shortly...maybe that will satisfy your anti-Byzantine attitude![]()
Ere'z what you can do sonny boy
1) dont read the AAR's then
2) make your OWN aar's
3)dont complain
Really, Byzantines, are the true heirs and successors to the Roman Empire, and since most of us were Rometotalwaro'philes, we'd naturally join the bandwagon and support our way offshot cousins to the east. That and the Byzantines are smacked dab in the middle of the campagin map, ready to do battle with a good variey of enemies, to orthodox factions to the north, muslims to the east, and christians to the west.
thats why!

i dont see the appeal in medieval 2, although i have played a really good early campaign in medieval one, i dont like them so much in this one do to how hard it is to defend themselved since they are so spread out. in the first medieval ill have an army parked 1000 miles away able to reinforce my territories which made it a lot easier
also, just make your own byzantine aar if you want to see if you like them or not, if you do problem solved, if you dont, dont read them or write another one for a different faction
