Highest Unit settings Question.

Ive been a total war fan for years, and have owned M2TW for 2 years, I had a pretty bog standard PC and just last week I built my own beast for very good value.

Now Medieval 2 was one of the first games I wanted to play again as I could never handle it, no matter how much tinkering.
I actually lost the disc and kingdoms disc was scratched to bits, so I bought Gold Edition today for €20(very good value If I do say) and now I can actually run it on maxed out settings on everything at 1440*900.

But I think theres an error with the highest Unit settings, The units details seem to appear/'pop up' when very close, If I remember from when I used to play it, I don't think the pop-ups were even that bad on medium or lowish settings at a low res.

I may just be being picky now that I can do it, but it just seems wrong. Is there a way for me to tweak the detail distance or could it be my drivers?

(I'm running a E8500 cpu, 2GB ram, 2x ATI HD4870 in crossfire and 8.7 catalyst drivers)

When you get above 1280x1024, there are issues with stretching the screen and things may pop out because of it.

Well I'm using 16:10 moniter so can't really do anything about it, and 1440*900 isn't really a higher res then 1280*1024

1280:1024 if my math is correct 5:4 or if you prefer 10:8 of which stretches things on screen differently than 16:10 or basic 8:5. Can you fix it so they don't "pop-up"?
