Main Menu Graphics Issue

I recently downgraded from Windows XP to Vista (har har) and when I try to play Medieval 2 THe main menu is covered in static where the words should be. My pc runs medieval at near full graphics on XP. I assume the problem is to do with vista, but any help would be appreciated.

From my experience, Vista takes about twice as much memory as XP. That is both ram and video ram. Turn down your video settings and if it goes away you know you need more memory.
