The Danish Bacon Problem for England

Morning All,

As I have mainly played eastern nations, this was first game as England. As predicted, the Scots were no problem. I left Ireland as it is just swampy & not very interesting (in the game.)

However, no one warned me that a foolhardy invasion onto Danish soil would be such a nightmare - with a por knowledge of the map - there was city after city, the Kingdom of Norway, castles I never knew about, skilful vikings more than a match for my crappy milita.

Dear oh dear, the Danes can be quite a handful & took many years to subdue.

SS give a very welcome boost to the Danes & the Kingdom of Norway making the whole challenge more significant.....

Of course, the place is a goldmine once you get up & running but I then ran into the Lithuanians you alos seem to be out to give me a good kicking....

Ahh yes one of my favorite parts of SS... the badass Norse infantry. Sounds like fun.

Really though thats the only challenging part of playing England that I've found. Thats storming Scandanavia with Levy Spearman, Hobilars, Mailed Knights, and Longbowmen. Norse Infantry and Norse Archers can hold their own pretty well in those battles.

When I played as lithuania I got massecred by denmark and norway when invading tehre land. They fielded large armys of huscarls + norse swordsmen. I didnt have much of a chance in the open battles.
It was a lot harder in scandinavia than my invasion at constantinoble... They basicly just gave me the key to the city.

I like it when you can invade an enemy and not know what your up against, i usually find Englands longbow's can slaughter practacly any other european archers, at least in the early period.

Thats not very good, im playing as Lithuania right now and ive just started my invasion of Scandanavia.

Danes were hard enough in the vanilla, let alone in the SS.
