Default A issue concerning the Franks

I have an issue with the Franks. It seems though even if I can score 11heroic victories on them, they always seem to be able to make stacks of Gerista and other axemen assorted infantry that can even plow through my Palatine armies.I think it is outrageously overpowered for an army to be composed fully of 20 attack 33 defense infantry when even my most elite armies have a mix of comitatenses and palatine infantry with medium/heavy cavalry. This issue is what made me lose most of Gaul and after having a battle with 6000Franks vs 2230 Romans and almost losing it because of a mass Gerista killing of my Legio Palatinae which was saved in time by a cavalry charge and a second line...I had to quit my campaign which I was winning despite being attacked by the Huns,Franks,Vandals and the Eastern Empire.

Franks are designed in the game to be the successors to the Roman world in the west. If you don't crush them soon enough they will eat you up..

The Anglo Saxons Franks and a few other German tribes shared their hearth with his 'leudes,' his - trusty fellows ' (' antrustions: franks) (Heorthgeneats: Saxons '), his ' comrades ' (' gesellen ' or ' gesithas '), all free, and attached to him not by clanship but by personal tie"

I understand your point though the Schola infantry meshes a great deal with the antrustions. What I did there was the antrustions I made a them a mounted generals unit.(prelude frankkish knights) I made two types of Schola infantry, one with an an elite engineering status that also gives it general unit status thus on par with the mounted antrustions and the gesithas remain always step below. Schola infantry also I wanted to show them to have a greater Roman influence

    FRANKS
    warlords:
    mounted antrustions
    elite schola infantry

    comrades
    gesithas
    schola infantry

    SAXONS
    warlords
    Heortgeneats
    Bretwalda Scyldingas

    comrades
    gesithas
Æhorsedra Gesiþas Mounted heavy cavalry of the Anglo-Saxons

Well,it is a cool feature..but do you recommend playing your mod on hard in battle? Those guys are really buffed up and they test my formations to the limit.I usually use the formation Julian used at Argentoratum. Can you give me any info on what a Roman field army should be composed of or what formations I can use other then the one I use that usually gets broken in the first line.

Tourani is the Franks capital? I just took it from them but it was just a city. Course they might have never re-established it as a capital since it rebeled on the first turn.

Taking Tourani seems to have... Given the Franks more spirit on invading my lands. Is it the BRG possibility that it has?
