    Default new units, no voice when u click on em

    so i noticed that in Kingdoms there is a nice file in the data folder called export_descr_sound_unit_voice or something like that, anyways, it allows you add new units under factions and place it "Heavy Infantry" "knights" ect

    where is this file for m2tw? or how did u add these voices to new units?

    that file doesnt exsist in venilla
    only kingdoms

    so there has to be another file somewhere that does something simular??

    I found all the sound txt's , but I wouldn't know how to change it to give voices to certain units I added to France. anyone got experience with the files?

    @gigantus, I send you a PM about this before I found this thread, sorry!

    Edit: allright, I've read the file export_descr_sounds_units_voice a bit, and I think you have to find the right accent; in my case french, and copy paste the unit you added to the faction; in my case France, there.

    Edit 2: you have to press crtl+f so you can search the file, and type: "vocal Unit_Select" under that line is where all the units are, and it's where you need to paste the unit you added.
    Example: you added musketeers to france. find musketeers by using ctrl+f, and when you've got them, copy them under the "vocal Unit_select" of the french accent. I'l edit again if I find out anymore!


    Edit 3: the units are classed in "heavy" and "light." both categories have their own "vocal Unit_Select" part. why the hell are there english units in the french part? Am I missing something?!
    Edit 3b: there can be only 2 reasons for the english units being there in the french part.

    Reason 1: altough they are in the french part, every unit in this file has it's own .wav file. maybe the english sounds are called "french_crossbow1" etc. ?
    Reason 2:english units are there, so if you play the french, and use create_unit, you'l have voices. altough I don't know why someone would do this.

    Edit 4: added canons of holy sepulchre to the french, as well as their voices to the french part in export_descr_sounds_units_voice. testing now, I'l report in a minute.


    Glorious Edit 5: WHOOOOHOOOO! WHO'S THE MAN?! GROENEPUNTMUTS IS! it worked. just to be sure, I played a custom battle with canons with and without armour upgrade, and they all yelled: "ZWEI-HANDER!" when I clicked them. I could make a tutorial in the tutorial section if there isn't one already?

    One thing though, as I already explained, there are two parts for units select voices. a heavy, and a light one. I put canons with the heavy, as they were originally at heavy as well, but what happens when you put them at light?

    Is that from the Kingdoms data files?
    cuz that file isnt in the m2tw

    Yes!
    this file exist for med2, check the patch 1.2 or better, and go to data/tool folder into your med2 vanila!

    x2 clik on unpack_all.bat

    waiting, and a lot folder will appear in your data, you will can see these file!

    i do have the m2tw unpacked, i mod quite often and those sound files are not there
    they r in kingdoms that how i found em.

    maby i can just copy/paste em into m2tw, but the scripts might not be setup to read that file

    What Riannorix means is: update to version 2 or higher and then unpack again.

    i could try it again to be safe, but i put this game on my new pc, installed it, patched to the newest 1, installed kingdoms then unpacked em all

    i would assume that they didnt rewrite the whole .txt file for kingdoms, just added new units at the bottom. so i'll have a look and see if all the venilla troops are there (which i shoulda done in the 1st place and not wasted so much time here) HAHA
