Opening RTW console using VISTA

I used the search feature, and found other people had this problem, but no one was able to help them, don't know if they were using Vista or not, but i've used this keyboard before to open the console in RTW running XP.

I don't know if this is an issue with Vista or not, but if anyone has since found a way to fix this, i'd appreciate it.

I tried running it in compatibility with Windows Service Pack 2 mode, and it didn't work.

Although I doubt it - has the key to bring up the console been changed by using Vista? For instance the RTW console (on my UK keyboard) is opened by pressing the key on the top right hand side of the keyboard (to the left of the '1' on the top line) but the M2:TW console is opened using the tild key (to the left of the return key).

Have you tried both combinations?

What keyboard and language set ups are you using? Has this changed since when you were using XP? I'm running Windows XP SP3 but my next PC, due in a week or so, will be running Vista.

Edit: I saw your post in the other thread, it would have been nice if the original poster from that thread had come back and confirmed that it worked or not. You could always try sending them a PM - they may have been too embarrassed to admit to the solution. However, that means when someone else has a, similar, problem then the solution is not known. Many people are using Vista now so it can't be a general problem with Vista. You could always find someone who has posted on how to use Vista and send them a PM. Here's two posts that I know of;

Well i have the same problem, its not the keyboard. ive tried in us, uk, german, french modes hell even swaheli and none work, your just gonna have to live with it, they aint no solution yet, ive looked all over the web, unless of course you go back to xp.

And this is EVERY game what uses console for the ` key, it wont work, oh well our consol'ing days are over my friend

Do you have a wireless keyboard? There are posts in this forum about this issue on wireless keyboadrs.

i have tried with wireless, wired, its if u have vista with media center edition, Damn hp included it, so if u have media center, check if u have a wireless remote in your usb, or you could go to hardware manager and disable it. i read that off internet, and it seemed to work for some people.
