What happened to all the AARs?

Hey there all,

What happened to all the AARs? I remember not long after I started my Scythia AAR many months ago that we were suddenly flooded with about 20 AARs (guestimate - my memory is far from reliable). Heck, we suddenly had so many that the AAR subforum was created just so we could see the non-AAR related threads in this main forum again. I now finally return and start a new one, and there about 2 that seem to be still going on in the subforum.

What happened to the AAR love, guys? What gives?

There are about 5 active ones in the forum now, including yours.... So quite a bit. The AAR people (TM, ME, King Arthuro) all went away at similar times, to my knowledge. TM is back (no pun intended ) and so is ME (just back posting today, I think), but Arthuro just went away. So the AAR's are still quite active, you're just observing at a not quite ideal time.

Spartan-Johnny's and Chazaps long running greek AAR's stopped a while ago, and they were a bit of a staple there, with 10-15+ pages each....

I quit playing my Greek campaign.

Not so long ago, I did a Roman Campaign. Just didnt felt motivated enuff to make an AAR about it. It was a fun campaign, since my objective was to give aid and power to Greece....so it would become a superpowered faction. Then I would try to destroy it.

Well, Greece turned out to be a superpower...lol....perhaps too much for my own good. I'm in the lead though after some heavy battles.

Well, i'm still checking this forum from time to time. I'm pretty much always around here. Atm I am playing Medieval ( Stainless Steel mod ) as you can see in my sig. Playing as the fearsome Teutonic Order.

Btw, there is an AAR competion announced for RTW / RTW mods. Cool AARs. Read and vote. The AAR forum is a new (and cool, in my view) initiative.

A nice forum indeed. Only far to much text in all those aars if you ask me.

My aars would never win there I have screenie 90% text 10% AARs, and it seems that the 1% screenie, 99% text always win :p

That sounds weird to me....but I find text usually very very boring. I love the battles more. A campaign AAR based mostly upon mighty battles.

If I want text, I take a book about Romans lol....

Not my AAR;s I tell everything that happens in the game. Everyturn. Finances, buildings built, battling etc.

Everyone's AARs have good points and bad points. Unfortunately, mine is so damn slow right now it's hard to tell at the moment what my good and bad points are, but at least I'm trying my hand at the storytelling side of things. Unfortunately I do have a bias towards action orientated AARs, so let's see how long I can keep my storytelling up for before saying "Ah, sod it, I'm just going post up the screenies and let other people figure it out."

On that note, next update will be up later today. And I'm waiting for Rogergargantua's screenies.

Actually, that's a point, I get the feeling that the ones you're posting now are screenshots you've taken a while ago. Am I correct or do you actually post up the screenshots of what you have only just recently played?

In my Roman AAR i play it in the morning and take then screenies afcaurse and then make the update in the aftenoon. So that one is up to date.

The Sabean one not, i must do one update from some weeks ago.

My Roman Empire is pretty huge. Last thing I did was a naval invasion on Greek lands. They sure didnt like it.
