    Default Problem unistalling RTW

Since I usually download a lot of mods and addons, I usually have to re-install RTW to fix some things. But I was a little to hasty and manually deleted some files from the directory, without doing it the right way through CP panel. So all the files are deleted, but my computer still thinks the game is installed. And it won't play right. I tried to uninstall it the right way through the, "Add or Remove programs" and an error comes up:

anyone know how to fix this problem?

Do you have ccleaner or any registry deleter because you can delete some files that way to make it work.

the method that most posts about this problem end up referring to is the following one; http://rtw.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/f...&f=3,3340,,all

Personally, I've never had to use this method.

One thing you may consider for the future is to keep a clean (i.e. unmodded) version of RTW 1.5 RTW 1.6. Each time you want a new mod (or once for mod folder versions) take a copy of the folder and simply apply mods to that. You should never need to go through the uninstall / install process ever again. That is unless you really do want to completely remove RTW from your machine.

Good to hear. The method of keeping a clean verson of RTW has saved me on numerous occasions. I've taken copies of RTW 1.2, RTW 1.5, RTW 1.5 RTW BI 1.6 and the last one with RTW Alexander 1.9 installed.

It does take up more disk space but PCs have had an abundant of space recently. I use the original 3 CD-ROM version of the game and until this method was suggested to me I did several installs / uninstalls / reinstalls.
