Trouble with Mods for RTW gold

I have rome total war gold and have been playing various mods but a few weeks ago whenever I started clicking the new campaign button a little screen that says "please select an item from the list" pops up and I can't play the campaign.

Aftet I close the game I find a error message that looks like this.



Anybody run into this problem before? I can't seem to find anything wrong with that file in any of my rome directories and I can play vanilla RTW or BI just fine.

That message means that the version of the game you are playing is not the one that the mod is expecting. Typically, I've seen that for mods that need RTW 1.5 RTW BI 1.6 as the base. If you are unsure of the version you are running launch RTW / RTW BI and look at the number on the top right hand side of the options menu. That's the version number of the game.

If you have the correct version then the next thing to check is to make sure that you've installed the game to the correct place (the game folder rather than the data folder).

Alright thanks I'll check that out and see if it helps. If I simply install bi v1.6 that bumps RTW up to 1.5 right?

If you install RTW BI it sometimes downgrades RTW from 1.5 to 1.3! After you install RTW BI launch the game twice (once as RTW and once as RTW BI) and take a note of the version numbers on the options menu. Make sure that they are 1.5 for RTW and 1.6 for RTW BI.
