Editing files on vista

Hi there i've been trying to edit the files in the one descr_strat(i think thats what it's called) for a long time and i'm having no luck with vista. I cut and paste the unlockable factions into the playable section. Then when I go to save it says it contains features that aren't compatible with plain text format. So I still try and save and then something about word not being able to save/create the file... make sure the disk you want to save on isnt full,write-protected or damaged. Is it vista?/microsoft word? or am I just doing it wrong. Thanks.

It's Vista. It's Word. Use a plain text editor like notepad or wordpad. Vista's security will not let you save your changes unless you have administrative rights. That is the reason for the cryptic messages.
