Same here. Always loved the series and always will.

Loved it but we really need a new location tho.
Come on, bring it to Europe again.
Yeah, good game overall. I still get the feeling that GTA IV will turn out to be GTA III for the new generation. By this I mean that after playing San Andreas then going back to 3 it felt dull and boring with not really much going on at all. IV imo was a taster for what Rockstar are really looking into for the next game and so on.
Europe would be fun. Perhaps Switzerland? Lots of guns there. Beautiful scenery. However it will all be tractors and Datsuns. Not a fan of the fast car is ole William Tell.
^ I get the impression with GTA IV people love it because they're supposed to love it. It brings the GTA graphics up to par sure, adds a bit more realism to the game, but it also cuts a lot of things out that were in previous games and really screwed with the driving. Remember when riding a bike used to be fun? Now you'll die all the time! Gamespot gave it 10/10, meaning it rates GTA IV alongside games such as Ocarina of Time.

Liberty City of GTA4 was based on New York but Liberty City of GTA3 was not just based on New York as the developers wrote about it saying that Liberty City of GTA3 was based on a number of cities all through out the east coast of US.
It's not just that. GTA4 is very different than the other GTAs and all the other games. I don't know any other game that the character you play is so talkative. The graphics and the diversity are not open to argument. What other game have accomplished the same things in the same scale?

In this "generation" of games? They all have graphics on a similar level, and plenty have the diversity of GTA IV. What has No. 4 offered that's new to the games industry? What has it offered that's new to GTA? Not that much, for such high acclaim. It's GTA 3, but shiny and with speech.

Ok, so there's no planes. Instead there's a revolutionary physics system not seen in any game to date, multiplayer, clever cell-phone addition, larger map, more missions, cover system, etc..
By comparison, San Andreas had alot of content in the way of vehicles and weapons, though most of it felt unpolished and bloated. I'm usually picky about games, but GTA IV is definitely one of the best games I've ever played, and by far the best of the series in my opinion.
Similar physics systems have been used in games for years, the map is smaller than previous ones (though not an issue) and the cover system is clumsily done. I did enjoy the game, but I don't believe it deserves the amount of acclaim it has received. I personally would rate the game a 7/10.

What games? We're not talking about simple rag-dolls here.
Smaller than San Andreas maybe, yet it's more detailed. San Andreas had large areas of "nothing".
I thought it worked well. Certainly a great improvement from the other games in the series.
Giving the game less than 9/10 would be a disaster!
Yeah it is kind of crazy that Gamespot gave it a 10/10. I dunno though, Gamespot has not given any review other than an increment of 0.5 in years, though. I think it has to do with their advertisement pricing structure....![]()
Yeah, I enjoyed the game up until a beat it. They mess with your head a little bit because the game ends when you have a progress percentage of 60%. I looked at my game progress when it was 50% and believed I was only halfway through when I was at the verge of beating it! What a dissapointment. I thought I would rise to the top of the criminal underworld, but no.
They did introduce some new things like the cell phone and the mini-games, but they took out some of my favorite features of San Andreas such as:
1. Planes - flying planes was one of the best things to do in San Andreas. The helicopters suck in GTA 4.
2. Base Jumping/Sky Diving - I could spend hours doing this in San Andreas
3. Buying Property - this was a really cool feature. I want to buy one of those mansions in Alderney, but sadly its impossible. At the end of the game you end up with $700,000, what are you supposed to spend it on?
4. Weaponry - the weaponry in GTA 4 is realistic, but boring. What ever happened to the flame thrower? The minigun? Or the katana? Those made rampages 10 times more fun.
Ocarina of Time? That game was the best!Gamespot gave it 10/10, meaning it rates GTA IV alongside games such as Ocarina of Time.
It was alright.
The controls were horrible, and the insane hospital rape, pissed us off no end.
As well as it has no replay value until they make us buy a new one.
Oooh and another thing, how often did you get arrested? I got arrested once, because a cop pointed a gun at me whilst I was on a bike. Other than that you never get arrested, the police always want you dead.
