Maybe heat or voltage issues? Running application rarely cause a reboot, they can lock up the system but I don't know how they could restart your machine.
Is this error reproducable?
I have the same problem, random re-boots from time to time. I actually think they are not related to DLV (even though they tend to occur when playing DLV 5.6), but to temperature limits on the graphics card, mainly because occurrence increases in the evenings when computer has been on a long time (computer is on, but not necessarily playing the game).
Microsoft notifications randomly complains about incorrect drivers from some device, unknown error due to corrupt report or error caused by antivirus software. Probably a full system re-install would solve the issue, but I am just to lazy to do that. However, drivers and antivirus are up-to-date.
Definitly not a DLV exclusive issue, more like what's mentioned above. You could look into the logfile and see if it report's any missing files though, but I doubt that it will.

Not that difficult, was it?
Anyhow, I am going to go first with some fun upgrade. The problem is that my rig is pretty crowed with the system disk, a 3 disk raid and a GTS8800 that sits precisely on top of the raid controller.
Do not really trust Microsoft much, but thanks.
I will let you know is some more nicely placed fans help with this problem.
Cheers

I have the same problem playing SS 6.1- my PC crush, the monitor is blue for a second and it restarts.
Like I said before, it worked 4me, no more blue screens, no more crashes![]()
Good to know.
Unfortunately my Internet connexion at home won't be working until the 4th of August.
Today, fan upgrade. The 4th, I will try your solution, despite being Microsoft (anything but full hard disc install). BTW, what did you exactly use? Protection, Clean-up, Tune-up or Full?
Cheers
I suffer from the occasional CTD or client freeze , but never a full reboot , sounds like a computer hardware issue. Sometimes I even hang up when I hit the yearly turn , but its easily remedied by popin' the task manager then rebooting the window .
Specs:
Asus 650i board P5N-deluxSLI
3gig Corsair 667 ( ram could be causing problem for me)
Vista Prem. 32
8800 GTX 648
On board Sound
Dual PCI-E Cooling fans x1
Intel dual E6600
I wonder whether my computer is going to be able to stay on a few hours without a reboot.
I think temperature is the problem and these days it is sky high (up to 25/30 degrees Celsius indoors at home, whatever that corresponds to Fahrenheit. OK, 77/86 for clarification).
Occasional reboots is one of my computer's "features". It is ...![]()
mine gets up to 70 celcious and still runs
