N00b Question About Data Files
Hey there, I'm sure there's a simple answer to this.
I want to edit the text files for the Teutonic Campaign on MTW2 Kingdoms. Only thing is, when I go into the data folders there are no text files there! For the custom campaign mods there are, but not in the Teutonic, Brit, Crusade or Americas campaign.
Are they stored in an archive or zip equivalent and need to be unpacked before I can edit them?

Re: N00b Question About Data Files
In your Medieval 2 directory there will be a folder called "tools" in their you will find the unpacker for the main game and all the Kingdoms' campaigns. Once you have your files unpacked you will have to convert the files in the text folder to .txt files from .strings.bin files. Download these tool to do that. Once you have manipulated the .txt file to your liking save it and delete the .strings.bin file as it will be regenerated upoin loading of the game.

Also if you get a CTD after unpacking see this thread. Everytime I unpack I relearn this the hard way after spending an hour trying to get game in multiplayer only to have it crash
basically need to delete the descr_geography_new.txt
