glad to see you guys still up and running.
It has been a while but, not long enough for me to get a proper pc to play again. I am currently playing from a friend's laptop and have been trying out several mods while I can
Hopefully it won't be much longer until I can start wiping those Seleucid hordes with my Bactrian archers again, so you better still be around!![]()
Good to see you around again.
Don't worry, we aren't going anywhere. We're still working hard on this mod.

Hi Everybody
I am Vae victis, and I enjoy conquering the world.
I have been playing PC games for many years. I mostly enjoy strategy games, and out of those, my favorites are the games CA makes in its TW series. Its great to see that such creative and talented people, can make the games I love, even better with mods. EXRM is the best mod I have played for RTW and possibly the best mod that I have played in the TW series. Everytime I come back to playing EXRM, it gets even better!!! I can't wait to try out the next update, but untill then, I have some battles to fight, some lands to conquer, and some people to subdue. It was nice meeting everyone.....now back to my conquest!!!![]()
Hi all,
I am Irenaeus, and I like playing my two favourite computer games, Thief and Rome Total War. Both have fantastic mods available for it which greatly extend the original games.
I have just finished my first game in ExRM, winning as the Seleucids and conquering the whole world. I especially enjoyed training those Indian elephants in Damascus and sailing them all the way to Ireland to win the game!
In the real world, I work in R&D in Sat-Nav systems, and enjoy playing cricket.
Ah, I like cricket too
Hi all,
first of all big thanks to all you guys who made this great mod Candelarius, Quinn Inuit and the many more talented people who contributed to it put in so much free time to improve the RTW experience in so many ways.
I've played ExRM (version 2.? ) a long time ago and tried to do so as a true Roman with the great hints/advise from Candelarius had much fun doing so. Haven't played RTW for a while. Recently I felt the need to dig it out and installed it again.
D/L version 3.4 and have installed it onto my BI 1.6
Cheers
Mark

After I played my first RTW vanilla campaign, quite a few years ago now, I checked out this site & the Org and saw to my horror that people were criticising the game! 'Idiots' I thought.
Despite my fanboy reaction I found it impossible to get into another vanilla campaign - Then I tried my first mod, RTR. The veil was lifted - The game could be so much better.
Went on to play EB, RS and several others over the years so know my way around an RTW mod. This is a good 'un.
It's great to see that my first mod, of any game ever, is still going strong and is being constantly improved.
Thanks for your work lads, and for your friendly, helpful forum.

"I should like to see...the last king strangled with the guts of the last priest"
Greetings folks,
Like Primative1, this was my first mod ever. I had no idea mods even existed. I had read a small article many years ago about RTR in PC Gamer and wanted to try it out. Was a bit nervous about changing the files and such, but took the plunge anyway. Since then any Total War game I have played I wait till a good mod is developed before I really sink my teeth into it.
RTR has been so enjoyable, I always find myself returning time and time again to it. I truly appreciate all the effort you folks pour into it and just wanted to say thank you.

You're welcome! I'm glad you're all enjoying it so much.

I just downloaded ExRM. Good job! I've played RTR-Plat and got a little bored with it. I have to say, this is a better version, but I haven't played it enought to put my finger on what makes it better. I'll be stoping by from time to time to read comments and put in my 2 cents worth. Happy Holidays!
Thanks, you too!

Hey, I'm looking for a different place to get the last hotpatch. The current host (rapidshare) says I've hit the limit, and I don't really have a way to get around that.
EDIT: Eh, got around it after all. This is pretty good stuff ^___^

Oh, good, I'm glad you're enjoying it. I'll put it up elsewhere as a backup.

Hey there,
Thanks for this cool mod, I just downloaded it. What I can read from the team and fixes is exactly what I have been looking for. I've been playing RTR for about a year now, and just started to get a bit fed up with the 'limited realism' (hahaha, I could never have imagined me saying that more than a year ago, limited realism! What a world of difference already from the RTW Vanilla) . I think I'll also have to get that Culture mod that is floating around on this subforum.
Thanks again!

I LOVE ExRM; It blows RTRPE of the water, which I honestly didnt think was possible...too bad my RTW mod of choice has been Darthmod for the last year... His Rome mod doesn't even compare with what you guys have done.
Not to hate on Darth, his is an excellent mod for, I guess I'd call them, "mid-hardcore" players.
I really like what you guys have done with recruitment (i.e. mostly in Roma and Capua). Im playing on M/M as Rome for my first game and its been the most fun experience I've had with the RTW. I just love watching my Picene Hoplite thrusting thier spears overhand with thier crazy painted shields.
Gah sorry for the gushing.....
On a side note, does the automatic installer have the latest hotfix? because i got a CTD during a big battle i was kicking ass in...lol
I'm glad you're enjoying it so much! Definitely no hating on Darth, though. That man has mad skillz.
I don't think the automatic installer has the latest patch, but it's really easy to install. If you catch that CTD, please post it in the bugs thread. CTDs during battle are usually easy to fix.
