    Default Faction monuments

Where are each of the factions' starting monuments (that's the name, right?)?

I know that Bactria's is in Bactra, Rome in Rome, Thrace in Seutopolis, Macedonians in Pella, etc., but I don't know about the rest.

They are all in each factions' starting capital, except for the Seleucid Empire which their's is in Seleucia.

The list is something like: Rome, Carthage, Sparta, Pella, Seleucia, Bactra, Teutoburgum, Gergova, Bibracte, Alexandria, Amasia, Thospia, Tanais (not sure about this one, whats Scythia's starting capital?), Seutopolis, and Nisa. I think the only one I've missed is the EK's capital, I can't remember it at the moment...

I'm pretty positive it's not Tanais for the Scythians, I captured Tanais early on in my Bosphoran provincial campaign but the damned steppe freaks are still churning out three-bronze chevron troops.

Campus Roxolani for the Scythians. It near impossible to get to without a huge undertaking. My well advanced Roman Empire never got close to getting it.

I have a question about hordes-- if a faction hordes, and then settles down elsewhere, doesn't this mean that it loses its bonuses?

Yes, and if they lose and retake the monument they don't get the bonuses back either.

Fix the problem, not the blame!

That's not true, since the bonuses are tied to a building they will regain them if they retake it.

After research I find this is not entirely true (sorry my mistake).

Here I will make a list of the settlements that hold each faction's monument.

    Greek City States- Sparta
    Macedon- Pella
    Thrace- Seutopolis
Seleucid Empire- Seleucia (not starting capitol)
    Pontus- Amasia
    Armenia- Thospia
    Parthia- Nisa
    Carthage- Carthago
    Rome- Roma
    Ptolemaic Empire- Alexandria
    Gauls- Avaricum (not starting capitol)
    Germania- Teutoburgum
    Baktria- Bactra
    Saba- Mariaba
    Scythia- Campus Roxolani
    Iberia- Tyde

The monument's owner needs to be holding the settlement the monument is in for the monument to give the bonuses. (so if a faction hordes it will no longer receive bonuses from its monument)

If a factions loses the settlement with the monument they can recapture the settlement and they will start to receive bonuses from the monument again.

The Rome Rebels, Independent Greek City States, Independent Gauls, and Eastern Kingdoms do not have monuments.

Well I hope this makes everything clearer.

Wow so many people asking questions about the monuments (dont feel bad though as I asked the same questions). Maybe we should sticky a thread with answers or include the answers in the readme?

D: I didn't know that! So the capital basically only has to fall once?

I didn't know that either. I'm pretty sure they get the bonuses back if they retake the city.

Could it be made so that as player you can get the monument without the benefits? I thought of this because in my campaign as Carthage I saw that in Gadir you get the Pillars of Herekles, but in Carthage itself you don't get anything specific. Just as a special temple or something ?

No im afraid that isnt possible. Though you can, if your a faction other then Carthage, capture the city of Carthago from the Carthaginians and then the monument will be there, though it will be just a mere building that offers no benefits...

Carthage does get a unique temple now (The Tophet of Carthage). It would be possible to make a set of debonused monuments, and give one of those to the player. But, that would use up two building trees, and the number of trees available is limited, so that's unlikely to happen.

Actually, only one building would be needed; it would just need a unique description for each faction. So, if the second monument tree has a slot left, it could be made into a player monument.

Good point - so maybe it's not a bad idea. There are a at least a couple of unused buildings in the monument trees - for the unplayable factions.
