Default A question about the BAI.

Is it possible to alter the BAI such that when it is attacked by me on the campaign map it holds its ground and waits for me to make the first move on the battle map?

As I do most of the attacking on the campaign map I`m usually disappointed when I zoom in to the battle map to fight as the BAI will often sacrifice the high ground and come straight at me like a red rag to a bull. I usually don`t have to manouvre much apart doing the standard bit of flanking once my archers have already picked off about a third or more of the advancing enemy.

I have fought a few battles lately where the AI has held the high ground and waited for me come at it and one where it actually manouvred to a better position and then waited for me but those are exceptions it seems. (I suffered much heavier casualties in those battles)

Don't know for sure but in my last 2 campaigns fighting rebels and factions When I catch them on top of a hill they almost always utilize it. Guess it might reflect on what leadership they have. Not sure if a general in the army influences it that heavily.

the majority of battles i fight the ai takes the best ground and waits for me to attack. the only time it doesnt is when i have an over welming force and the ai stands no chance, then they tend to try one curaguras charge. go out with a bang i guess

Same thing in my battles... only if I move so close that the crossbows or longbows can shoot OR when I flank widely with my cavalry (take good position on the flank for further charge) AI get closer and charge (or hunt my cavalry), but it's MY first move.
And when AI attacks - it's not surprising that they move first
