Right I said this already that I am disappointed by the generic appearance of the uniforms, there is also no reason for me to think that other factions or other units that we have not seen will be any different.
Obviously there are a myriad of reasons why you could justify this approach I will leave those excuses to someone else.
Now why? And considering that this period has literally a treasure trove of colors and designs would CA go for this generic look?
One example is this rifle unit that appears to be some version of the 95th

Actual 95th rifle unit:http://www.mont-saint-jean.com/cent_...p?uniformes=43
It appears that in this case CA have gone for the officers uniform and put this on the ordinary soldiers, they then ignored the bugler from that rifle unit and used another style of bugler from a different rifle unit. The officer appears to be some sort of pirate have no idea whats happening there.
These officers and buglers are then used as far as I can tell by other units and also different factions (color change) so overall you have this generic look throughout the battlefield.
In affect you have made and then reproduced inappropriate uniforms for certain units and then by applying this to different factions you have compounded your error.
In this screen you have a version of what is almost certainly a dismounted British Dragoon

and in this shot you seem to have its alternative faction version.

With an engine that can render such beautiful screen shots why would you not try and reproduce accurately some of the many uniforms available. I appreciate that this can be modded but its a bit
of a lame excuse for not doing it yourself.
Some people have criticized seeing two different uniforms from two different periods alongside each other, that does not bother me too much, its seeing the wrong types of uniforms full stop.
