    Default Multiple Roman Factions

Are we going to see multiple Roman factions in EBII like the vanilla Rome: Total War, or perhaps a Civil War type deal? That'd be interesting.

The team have said no to this type of thing numerous times. The biggest reason being RTW's depiction of the Roman's is very inaccurate and also the Roman's were not the only people to have civil war's... so why should they get more factions?

There will be one Roman faction, no rebels/shadow-factions.

You and all who think that way are wrong ! Another (at least) STRONG (not that pathetic Scipio faction which was a joke in Vanilla) one Roman faction would make MORE interesting the playgame when you play with the other Roman faction and even more interesting when you play not at all with a Roman faction.Don't be a narrow-minded (no offense, there's nothing personal here).Persons like you are killing good ideas and , unfortunately , there are plenty in this world.Maybe in vanilla the idea of more Roman faction was bad implemented .That didn't mean the idea is BAD !Got it? You all of your kind are so nihilist to innovation that even you didn't give it a thought to imagine how it would be such a game .People like "you" with no vision are still in charge and that is the worst of it!
One more thing, "you" say that Roman empire wasn't the only faction which had conflicts. As if Roman EMPIRE (which without it would NEVER had been the idea of a game such Roman total war)was something insignifiant. They ruled the world for a millenium and civilized WORLD even your own WORLD !! They meant GREAT deal in human history and "your" ignorance is an insult to their legacy!

PS - "You" and your 'kind" say that there are no slot waste for such a thing (more Roman faction) but you thought to include a Jewish faction.Who were Jews in the Roman period ?? They didn't count a bit, nobody cared about them at all.If the jews were so important in Roman era to get a faction maybe Creative Assembly would've called it the Jewsih Total War instead of RTW, right ? )))

The problem is that if you knew something about Rome's history, you would never suggest splitting it into multiple factions.

You don't get it.I KNOW the Rome history.I don't know if better than you but I do.The point was not that.It was that Roman empire beeing the main "character" in this game (don't say it isn't, I don't believe you) deserves nothing but BETTER! I'll tell you why, too.Roman empire HAD its bloody share/part with two great , let's call them civil wars (the one Marius vs Sulla and Caesar vs Pompei & co; I don't mix here the 4 emperor year, it's not the same and I don't involve here the emperors era , though it was bloody too). That's why the Creative Assembly PUT factions in the game, to make it MORE interesting.Who knows , if you are, let's just say, a Greek or you live in northern Africa, you won't give a on the Roman empire and faction and all. This game is about identifying YOU with your nation or just playing for fun , not beeing involved emotional at all , BUT it is about ROME, THAT is the MAIN "course" here ! That's what people like you don't understand. If you don't give a to the Roman Empire it's a waste of time to explain you all this.People who among other GIVE importance to that but disagree with the more Roman faction idea are persons who maybe get bored quickly with a game regulary and they, probably want to see everytime something new, who knows..
Maybe the compromise would be a 'menu" option mod letting you choose to play with more Roman faction or not. That's what I would've done if knew to make a mod, but I don't, I just have ideas and I like Roman empire history.

I think the whole argument is moot since you can't force the peace between Roman factions until a civil war like it was done in RTW. Since the AI is programed to hate you, you would just end up fighting the other Roman factions in turn two and being forced to wipe them out by 260BC.

Whether you believe it or not, it's not true. Rome is not the main character of EB. If you want to have the spotlight on the Romans, this is not the mod for you. EB wants to give all factions a chance to shine. That means that Rome will get exactly the same treatment as any other faction. So if Rome gets civil wars, so will the others. That's not to say that the Romans will be neglected, though. The Romans of EB1 already are one of the most complete and most powerful factions. They will not be split up, however, as they weren't historically. At least, not more than other factions.

Multiple Roman factions is a HORRIBLE idea! That's what vanilla is for...

One Roman faction is good, if the team and another roman faction they most lose a complete new faction by one just like the Roman, just it a different color in symbol.

    i agree
Then, as throngs of his enemies bore down upon him and one of his followers said, "They are making at thee, O King," "Who else, pray," said Antigonus, "should be their mark? But Demetrius will come to my aid." This was his hope to the last, and to the last he kept watching eagerly for his son; then a whole cloud of javelins were let fly at him and he fell.

If there are not shadow factions, I believe that a very strong and realistic rebellion system should be implemented into EB2.

Two or three Roman factions is the dumbest idea for historical game I've ever seen. Roman rebels could be some realism and an interesting issue, but the way they are situated in vanila is stupid...

I think the system in vanilla, even though ahistorical(which obviously means that it isn't anything for this mod), was fun and a great idea gameplay-wise. Getting the choice of choosing a war between the gauls, macedonians or carthaginians was great, and was a perfect way to introduce the player to the game, while the senate gave you missions, getting you started.

Fun, but stupid. EB is fun and intelligent. That's the way it should stay. 'Nuff said.

The Noble Lord, saying there will or will not be things in EBII is not cool if you are not a member of EB. Please don't pass yourself as someone knowledgeable about what is and is not in EBII. For a fact, there will be no Roman Rebel Faction.
