Default Getting stainless steel to work with steam

Hi, I bought mtw2 vanilla, ages ago, not long after release. After playing SS 4.1 for a while i decided to go ahead and purchase kingdoms via steam, specifically to play SS 6.1. However, when i try to launch SS 6.1 from the desktop it says i cannot find the kingdoms exe. and when i try launching from steam the game crashes.

Note that i can play any of the kingdoms campaigns, and the vanilla campaign fine via the steam launcher.

Any help would be most appreciated.

It is not so strange, and you can get it to work properly. (Correct me if I'm wrong here, never edited a .bat file, so help him out if you know how to do it)
The Stainless steel starts via a .bat file, wich gives an adress to were the kingdom.exe is.
if the adress is wrong, the bat file tells you that it can not find this .exe file.

The .bat file uses the "normal" or default adress for where the .exe is. So we need to change the .bat file so it can find the exe file.

Since you got the "direct to drive" version of Kingdoms, those mods are adjusted to be able to start via steam. Why it crashes, I don't know.

Hope I'm not to wrong here, but thats what I think is wrong. We will see if anyone else will post, otherwise il try to guide u through it.

Alright, since no one is posting I guess I'll give it a try.

What root (map) do you have your total war?

like :C/program files/steam/steamapps/Medieval II Total War etc. (I just made that up, do not know if it is the correct one.)
Is the Kingdoms.exe in the Medieval II Total War map? (it should be if the others mods are working)
A new avatar, a new game, New bugs to be fixed!
...But you will have to do it for me!

You can't play a Steam version of Kingdoms with a CD version of MTW2 - I'm afraid that may be your problem D:
