My best time with the HRE? that must be when they only had a war with poland and actually lost with 3:1 odds, theyre not to so tough after all.

Hmm... I've had fun fighting them.
One general, some wimpy skinny kid, was a bit close to my boarder. Somehow, he had a bodyguard of all dismounted gothic knights, so when I fought him, I charged him with my general, pulled back and infantry rushed him with my army of Polish Nobles. (My empire's main troop)
He got swarmed and speared from all sides. I can't remember if I captured or killed him, but I wiped his bodyguard out. His knights put up a great fight, but fell to my nobles eventually.
I had enough troops left to slaughter the reinforcements. If the Pope hadn't threatened me with excommunication, I would have destroyed their faction.
Oh well.

Call a Crusade on the Moors but don't join it (so if you get excomed they can't pwn you too soon), and then kill the HRE.

When they stormed through France, Hungary, Denmark and then Russia in the first 80 turns. It was all great until I(Spain) got excommunicated... I've never fought so many unit stacks at one time!!!

Let me tell you, crusades are fun and all. Just not when their aimed at you...
