Hello all, Here is a rather depressing realization I came to one day in class
Alright so every thing on earth that is alive gets its energy from the sun (excluding ocean vents and molecular splitting, Im just saying like how plants convert sunlight and animals eat plants etc.)
So the sun is the main source of energy in our solar system, and releases its energy in the form of light, and heat(and all that other stuff). Organisms use the energy and then release it back into space as heat when carrying out activities in order to sustain life. This leads up to my main point. Energy is basically always moving from higher concentrations to lower concentrations, until it would eventually be evenly dispersed around the universe, possible in a form that could not be used to sustain life anywhere.
Now I realize this wouldnt happen for an unfathomable amount of time, but one the basic laws of physics is energy can not be created or destroyed, only changed in forms. So if Humans do exist for all eternity lets say, wouldnt are race be eventually destroyed because of the inabality to create energy to sustain any life?
(I am not the educated about everything such as advanced physics. I just completed high school biology. The main point is well run out of energy)
Which leads me to wonder, Say everything goes right, and we dont kill ourselves all or become extinct by some act of nature. No matter what happens, Are race is bascially doomed. No matter what we do in our life times, eventually no one will look back at it and nothing would care.
Food for thought eh?
