    Default ARE THERE ANY SUB MODS WITH BETTER DIPLOMACY?

    I love this mod but I have 1 problem with it.
    Alliances seem to mean nothing. Is there any submods with punishments for breaking allaince or anything?

    That`s not something you can change so, no, there isn`t. Diplomacy is pretty much hardcoded. There is a force diplomacy script around, but that`s pretty much like using a cheat. It doesn`t change the diplomacy system, just forces the ai to accept the terms.

    As Florin said, it's impossible: diplomacy is hardcoded...
    It's only after you have lost everything, that you are free to do anything.

    Alliances are just words on paper

    Adding punishment would be very bad and unrealistic...

    Unless the punishment could be that other factions would be more hesitant to deal diplomatically with the alliance breakers. Of course, since diplomacy is so messed up anyways, I guess we'll just have to deal with it.

    i never ever had a protectorate or whatever. ever. never had more than 2 aliances for the 2 years i've been playing RTR and RTW lol.

    Nah I have alliances in my mini-mod, some for many decades.

    Armenia: 20 years, even if I constantly send spies to bring them black death (all their large cities have been reduced to 400-men villages ).

    Other allies: Parthians, Romans, and Iberians for 10 years until they backstabbed me after I *poisoned* and destroyed their best army without any fighting Their backstabbing failed anyway, and I shall ask for peace and alliance again in a few turns.

    I sent spies to neightboring factions, and whenever I monitor a plague => There is how the GREAAAAAT black death begins:

    Send more spies to these regions, get each of them infected by infiltrating, and then spread them to other cities and *renew* the infection every turn by re-entering these cities (and leave immediately to avoid getting caught). Plague usually ends after 4-5 turns, or 1-2 turns if it has lasted for too long time, so I need one spy for every 2-4 cities. And I need backups in case they're killed by the plague; also I have to to put spies in every of my own cities on the border - or the plague will come to me soon

    The biggest plague in my campaign has lasted for 30 years, and it has been spreaded to every but my Bosporan cities in asia minor

    PS: They're probably not effective in unmodded RTR though - in fact you may welcome the plague in order to reduce squalor problem
