hi there,

i just get started to play this game, it is just so fun n i cant stop it now...

i raised my army from Venice and after i take another city(Bologna), my peoples happiness of both cities turns to very negative & didnt raise back even i put in some governor & garrison troops + change to low tax rate.....
(i choose ransom after i beat cpu's army)

this is a big problem for me a lot coz my capital(Venice) income dropped from 3200 -> 1200!!!

anyone can help? thanks~!

well, build buildings. Get a truce with the HRE. Also to give your governor good chivalry, just release prisoners.

maybe you got excommunicated in the process (which negatively affectes public order)

or maybe a heretic is at your doorstep, or you have a rebel army in your province... there are a few things that could have gone wrong

as for raising the chivalry of a character you need to
1) release prisoners
2) join crusades

not sure of other ways to do it

Also, perhaps someone is blockading your port. Sea trade is a HUGEMONGOOSE part of coastal city income.

Yeah, the dudes right, it acounts for about 70 - 90% of the total trade income. I advice you to build a merchants warf. Also, check that your trade routs, land/sea, are not being blockaded by enemies. Also, the reason your trade may have dropped so low is because you were surrounded by HRE povinces and they were your most fruitful trading partners.

when you go to war with someone trade rights with that faction are canceled, so apart from having a port blockaded you may not have trade rights with enough nations (or with nations near you) and you cant trade

the tax rate which you lowered also affects income
