    Default Psychedelic Battle Map Errors

    Hi There.
    Playing Imperium Julianorum and just loving it.
    And I am also free of CTD's now.

    I just got those flickering psychedelic graphical errors on the Battle map,
    mostly when zooming close to units.
    I searched, and only found that maybe some hardware has a problem with some centurion textures.

    Any idea how to fix this?

    After that my only problem would be that i can't stop playing. :hmmm:

    I had similar problems in MTW2-Mods, so yeah, somehow itīs a known thing XD

    I think this one captures it better.
    It's triangles flickering really fast.

    Annoying though, I can't see anything if I zoom in close.

    You were saying you think it is a roman officer? As far as I know this has never been problem. Can you confirm.

    Have you tried lowering your video settings to see if that helps?

    I myself have no suggestion on what might be the problem.
    When searching for this error here on the forum I found a short comment that mentioned a centurion texture.
    But I do not know any more.
    Though I sometimes see officers (The men that look different than the rest of their unit) flickering. It looks like they dissaper from their legs upward.
    Can't make a screen of that, it happens to rarely.

    I already have low video settings. I will try other video settings,
    but I don't think that will change anything.

    Any idea?

    I have a feeling it's a barbarian officer. Can you tell me what factions were involved.

    Yes, It was a barbarian officer.
    Can't tell you specificly what faction, though.
    Alamanni or Visigoths.
    But I get the flickering errors with and against all factions.

    You get it against all factions that you play against, so does the problem appear in the enemy army or yours. And if yours, which one?

    It does not seem to matter which faction I play, or who I fight against.
    And the errors occur both when being close to my own army and the enemy.

    It's usually a problem with a texture file but without knowing which figure it is it would be hard to pin it down. All I can say is keep trying to see who the offending figure is and let me know.

    Sorry if I can't be of more help than this at the moment.

    Well, thanks for trying so hard. I really apreciate it.
    I don't think that a certain texture file is the problem, as I get those errors always, with all factions, fighting everybody.
    Exept if it's all factions officer texures.

    I can play on, it's just annoying because I can't zoom in.

    If I remember right this particular bug got something to do with new shields Ramon has added to the couple of barbarian units. I can’t give you out of hand solution. Will try to view CAS file in MAX this weekend to see if I can fix that.

    I thought that maybe giving all barbarians other officers or something like that could fix the thing.
    But I don't understand how to do that.
    Having different or no officers would be better than those errors.

    Edit: I also thought about getting the vanilla sprites/textures for officers (those that cause the prblem) back.
    Any idea if that could help and how to do it?

    On the screen you can only see his head being gone.
