Default How to get more chivarly?

So, topic speaks for itself. How do you get more chivarly?

It seems that I always get dread whatever I do, releasing prisoners or even leader doesn't help it still gives me dread. I'm currently playing Teutonic campaign and my usual dread-lord campaign didn't go so well I thought to try to keep posivite relations this time.

There is nothing that can match the exuberance of youth.... except of course, wisdom and treachery.

Yes, Crusades is pretty much a 100% way to jump a few Chivalry levels. As a matter of fact, if you're the person to conquer the target of the Crusades, you pretty much earn the title "the Chivalrous" as a result most of the time.

That isn't possible when playing with Teutonic I'm afraid.

What're the ways to get chivalry in battle? I guess it's all about odds, you've to fight it fair? What're good odds? What else? And is there anything I should absolutely avoid, it's ok to use lots of catapults in example?

Any tips on Teutonic VH/VH campaign appreciated as well. In my current game Novgorod and Lithuania are againts me. Allianced with Poland and Denmark but it looks like Denmark is gathering some troops if he attack it's all over for me.

Yes.. but how about in battle?

I always seem to get dread-traits. Especially "Winning First" trait.

Also something i've noticed. If you have them Govern a settlement with taxes on low, Generals tend to gain Chivalry. I tend to put most random guys I get as governer's in my core provinces, and they start out with no Chivalry or Dread. After a while, I come back and they tend to have 3 or 4 Chiv by just sitting there.

Jihading gives chivalry traits, too. Try throwing your general into battle as often as possible, he will get some good chiv. traits. Also, you shouldnt use assassins, will get dread for using them correctly ( I got master assassin and other traits to my king after I killed some popes ).

But your general should have the "scarred" or "Brutally scarred" traits so you can get him into combat, in order to try achieving chivalry. I wouldnt recommend that way though, youll probably lose family members that way..

Wether a battle gives chivalry or dread is pretty much solely about odds. You can also gain chivalry by fighting opposing religions ( catholic + orthodox vs. islamic ).
The best way to get chivalric generals is to only accept adoptions/husbands that already have the BattleChivalry trait.
