    Default marius reform

    i have a couple of questions about the marius reform in XGM

    1.wat triggers the reform in XGM?

    2.does the reform in XGM change the bodyguards?

    3.wat exactly does the reform change in XGM?


    p.s. i hope the reform isnt the same as the reform in RTW vanilla (only roman units and bodyguards get changed)

    1. A Roman faction* building a Imperial Palace in an Italian city, besides Rome, triggers the reforms.

    2. Yes, every factions bodyguards are changed, it's quite a switch for Pontus especially.

    3. It changes the Romans recruit options, the bodyguard for every faction, and nothing else I am aware of. There is however a thread in the Sub-Mod forum which is hoping to expand on this more, come by and check it out.

    *I have found that the Indie Greeks cannot trigger the Reforms, the Roman Rebels can however.

    You forgot the imitiation legionaires for a few factions and a few units that are dependent on Marius Reform but are in different factions.

    Good to know.

    There are a few post-Marius units in other factions as well. Notably the Eastern/Greek legionary units. Kestros Slingers are post-Marius as well.

    All their civic units get +2 experience upon recruitment Post-Marian.

    Its all been posted in this thread: Carthaginian Civic units get +2 exp upon recruitment, Maks get Kestros Slingers, Roman roster changes to Post-Marian, Bodyguards switch to the "armoured" version, and some factions get imitation legionnaires.

    Basically, I've just been through EDB and here are the changes (in 5.7.15):
    1. Bodyguards are improved.
    2. Egyptians get late Ethiopian Axemen at the Auxiliary City Barracks.
    3. The Romans get their units.
    4. Spartan Hoplites, are replaced by Spartan Phalangites.
    5. The Seleucid Empire, Pontus, and Armenia get Imitation Legionaries.
    6. The Seleucid Empire gets Silver Shield Legions at Royal Barracks.
    7. Carthaginian Light Infantry, Heavy Infantry, and Medium Cavalry get 2 experience.

    And that's it, so Kestros Slingers, even if they once required the reforms, do not any longer.

    Expand your borders, a mod based on XGM 5.

    The post marian project will also give more variety to late game in the future, just check the sub mod section...
